i knew this would happen once all that pm stuff n thread where made, how about you select people a few 'responsable' people to help with the running etc and not leave it to everyone |

| I still think this can happen so we've hit some problems doesnt mean we should give up i reckon if we get together properly we can still get something sorted and try and make this work, otherwise i can see us still planning ukta night when we're 80 odd, ukta night july 2060 woohoo |

dont get me wrong here mate, all the work uve put into this is muchos appreciated.. but u should have discussed the dj money thing here (or at least posted saying so instead of getting ste to edit the thread) - see my post in the other thread for my point of veiw on the whole mess :)
dont use the word cancel, or even postpone. weve come too far now to do it again. im sure i speak for everyone when i say that we want this to happen on july 12th. we can sort this out :)
but either way what ever happens im up for playing, whether it be this year or 2060 :p:) |

Well Neo i urge you to reconsider. I think the people who know you pretty well realised after seeing certain decision and posts by people that this would be the conclusion.
Well i think we all appreciate your efforts. And it would be a shame to cancel the event or post pone it. We have a date and i hope we cna stick to that. Most things r sorted, posters, equipment. Only the line up has been under question.
I think you have organised events before, and i know kuffdam has. So i think we should let you organise this. We have jeff and harry helping with equipment and advertising.
Now i think we need to hand over the running to a select few. At the end of the day we need a few spokespeople (ill be politically correct :p) to have total control to minimise arguments and disagreements.
Well i think ste and jeff run this forum pretty well, and with a mature approach. Why not let all decisions be decided by say jeff, ste, Neo. I think that would be a good idea. And we all cna obviously discuss the idea and voice our oppinions. But their view is final.
Basically there are around 40+ active ukta members, and a business wouldnt have that many MD's for exactly the reasons that have developed.
Well hopefully we can have a system that works. Get this up and running and make it a success. If it fails, then oh well, atleast we tried. But if it works then future nights can be planned and more ukta's can spin.
I think a lot of us are really looking forward to this night. It will be a good chance to get all of us together, and from meet up its will be a huge success im sure.
Well i hope july 12th still goes ahead :D |

Argh I hope none of my comments have been taken that way, I really want this to happen coz I know how much it means to certain people and I'm 100% in support. If I've sounded like I'm whinging it's only because I want it go go right for everybody.
What I would say though is, take 100% charge Neo. You've done most of the work by the sounds of it.
edit: not saying that others havn't, others have put in a lot of work but that should be their job and that only. |

i agree with fly.. there needs to be a shuffle of things.
i dont think one person should have 100% power, it needs to be 3 or 4 ppl, so that if we have disagreements we can sort it out without the need to make daft polls. i dont mean to say that neo isnt doing a good job (thus far he has ;)) but i think that its important we get things right for everybody.. and if we have more than one person in charge then we are more likely to get a good balance. i think there should be neo, ste, jonsimmonds, and myself making decisions (obviously with ideas and stuff from the rest of u :))
and we need to make sure there are regular updates in this thread. this has been the only problem with the way it is happeneing at the moment, all too often things have only been mentioned in #ukta and if ppl arnt there then they arnt gunna find out about it (for example this dj money business could have been sorted out ages ago if there was an update saying stuff))

| well......i think that there should be two people solely in charge - i.e jeff and neo...then a small number of people on a team, say ste, harry, fly and then any decisions made can be discussed amongst them - but ultimately decided by jeff n neo.....obviously they can discuss stuff wiht the rest of us in irc or woteva...but i thiik this way it would make it much more organised..these people then can organise the rest of us as to wot we can do if we want to help :) i know i wanna flyer and question people..as do others....and i really want this night to go ahead. |

well i agree with the 'comittie' idea and i would be able to help as after tuesday uni is over for me and ill have a fair bit of spare time
also perhaps include spad as hes pretty sensible and has a fair bit of knowldge

the only problem with it bein solely me n neo is that both of us r playing.. we need some ppl who are not playing to be in charge too incase sumtihn happens on the night :) |

Well, I am moving today back to Essex, so that will give me a few days to think the situation over and to calm down a tad.
It was mostly the slagging off of Kuffdam that pissed me off in the other thread.
He was willing to come down all the way from Glasgow at his own expense to play for us, He has given several UKTA's chances to play on his radio site (TAW) and supported them totally on there and the poll was a fine way to thank him for his support of you lot. . . NOT !
Note: I did not get Ste to edit the thread, many ppl knew of the DJ Money and Kuffdam b2b back when i originally posted it.

i personally never saw a problem with kuffdam playing as he is a TA and stuff. i think fray and george went about things the wrong way, i dont even know why they did it as neither of them has been particularly involved in the organisation of the night.. i think fray has sorted it with kuffy but i dont know the specific details.
my apologies about the postage business, i must have missed the post or sumthin. however, for all its worth, i would like to have my objections to dj money playing heard now :)
at the end of the day its mainly ur contacts that have got us this far (with booking the club for free etc), but do consider the ideas posted previously by myself and fly.. they r good ideas and wil lmake it all run smoothererer ;)
take these few days to think as u said, but make the right choice :p its not really fair that those of us who put our efforts in will miss out because of the actions of people who didnt have much to do with it in the first place :) |
