Tiesto officially better than Armin !!

Well, in case you haven't read Montreal review thread about their June 13th party with Tiesto, Armin and Guy Ornadel, I think it once and for all settled the dispute who is a better DJ...
Tiesto hands down !!! Sure Armin played all great tracks and his mixing was tight, but the set itself didn't flow nearly as nicely as Tiesto's, and Armin's set even got boring for good 20-30 minutes at times.. Tiesto's set on the other hand was pretty much all amazing after 20th minute and till the end. He managed to play everything from prog to trance to techno, without losing the crowd even for one track.

Anyway....you know those girls up on the stage at Toronto events that are really hot and model looking? I know one of them (Blanka is her name) and she knows Tiesto pretty well now. Anyway, she asked him if he was excited about Montreal with Armin and he said nope. He doesn't get along with Armin anymore because Armin is trying to copy Tiesto and plays "cheesey Euro trance". Tiesto vowed to just do his set and get out of there without talking to Armin. Had he known Armin was booked for that exact date, Tiesto told Blanka he would not have agreed to play there the same night. This was told to Blanka personally by Tiesto before his Toronto set.
It's pretty sad I think...the two best (along with Ferry) Dutch trance masters not getting along? Sucks.
Anyway....how did Armin greet Tiesto and vice versa at Aria? I'm very curious. |

For me both are equally talented...
One might have a better night from the other, who knows its everyones prefenece...Too bad we didn't get AVB and Tiesto @ the Docks last Wed :(
But it still was one of my fav parties:D |

| Ive spoken to Armin's manager before... very nice guy.... his name is Dave Lewis.... and he told me he once managed tiesto for 5 years... |

and......now Lewis and Tiesto don't get along.....that's why Tiesto and Armin seem to not like one another? Come on......what's the story behind this...I don't see why it's such a highly guarded secret.
All I heard was that Tiesto feels Armin is trying to copy him. I wish the person who told me all this would elaborate, since she heard it straight from Tiesto himself....but it was so loud in the Docks and I really just wanted to enjoy myself.
Oh well....a lot of goes on behind the scenes that us simple fans probably shouldn't know about. It's all about the music I guess.....though I do like this Dj gossip.:p |

i think it's just a lot of hearsay going around .. and no one wants to sound like they're discrediting a DJ by posting false or inaccurate information ..

| Tiesto did spin a nice set the other nice, however all the people who posted either left after Tiesto or shorty after Armin came on (for good reason b/c of the heat)....and therefore really can't comment on the set that Armin thru down. His set was way more energetic then Tiesto's and the mixing itself was far and above what Tiesto threw down in the earlier part of the night. Simply put, Armin's music is just harder and sexier. Everyone i talked to at the club, was far more impressed with Armin then tiesto....Tiesto must have made 2-3 major mistakes within the first hour itself, not to mention his set was almmost identical to what he played in T.O. for the last hour or two, minus the encores. Anyways, we all have our opinions...but it is to bad that they are not friends anymore. From here on out though, Armin reigns in my books! By the way...loved all the "Armin" chants at the end of the night. nuff' said! |
