OMG!!!!!!!!!
Saturday was incredible. It was a reminder of why i go out in the first place. i havent had that good a night at arc since new years and i havent felt the music like that in i dont know how long.
i was psyched for j00f but it was to the point that i was sure i was going to be let down cause i thought i had over hyped it for myself. i was wrong. his set was fantastic. i was really feeling the goa and everything he played was so dark and dirty. i loved it!
G&D were ok, but i wasnt that into their set. i left early to go to vic's cause i figured i'd hear them later.
it was so good to see TAs. partying with you guys is always a fantastic experience. :) |

highlight of my night: dave gahan - dirty sticky floors (junkie xl mix)
i think i enjoyed flemmings set more than g&ds. i guess by that time i was kind of tired and like some of you said it was putting me to sleep. but i had fun, and it was nice seeing you guys again (and meeting some new people :)). would have come to the after party but i was dead tired :[ |

course it can.
G&D are a fad act. they are one of those acts that should stick to producing, like James Holden (who at least doesnt play cheez).
Here's me 2¢ (copyd from Arc boards):
j00f was excellent, i didnt stop moving the entire time he was on, literally, until G&D came on (i was wearing the green tactical vest with the reflectives and brown pants) and then i borrowed my friend's photo pass (no, i wasnt that annoying kid with the flash. i have decency. but yes, these images are legitimately acquired.) He played some seriously solid tracks, especially after 3:30.
G&D though was a total disappointment. I'm sorry but i dont like paying to hear headliners trainwreck, nor up the loops on their own song. I wound up leaving around six because i couldnt stand the anthems and bad mixing anymore.
The crowd was alright, though there were more shirtless meatheads than usual (who definitely smelled a LOT more than usual).
The lasers were really cool for a change. Did they use Arc's lighting guy because it didnt feel like it? They did get a bit carried away with that, though, especially during G&D when they'd use just lasers for like 15 minutes.
But anyhow, i had a great time, i'd totally go to see J00F again when he comes back in town.
Oh yeah, and a few images for you:

First of all, thanks to Tom & Lisa for carting my ass to the city. WAy better than the train. I guess we all missed the meetup, but everyone got together inside the club.
I hadn't been out in over a month and it was great to see a nice crowd and hear the lovely phazon. Obviously we are all in agreement about j00f. He really killed it. I wasn't too into his set back in January but Saturday night changed my whole point of view. I loved it all, even if I only recognized a minimal number of tracks. The Goa/Psy was cool, I liked the beats. Damn, everything just sounded so GOOD.
There were TAs all over the place and I felt like I was home. I enjoyed the tracks G&D dropped but I definitely did not have the energy I had when j00f was on. It was truly awesome hearing everyone sing Beautfiul Things and AS the Rush comes. I got chills. :p but DIRTY STICKY FLOORS!!!! :eyespop:  :eyespop: :eyes:
Vic's party was great, even though I had to leqave early. I got my DINAIRE FORCE ONE fix, so the night was complete. Naturally, Vic was the best DJ I heard that night, but did I really need to say that? Seriously, ENERGY is Vic's middle name! Right, Vic? :toothless :p :D :p
Nice to see so many TAs..that's what always makes the night so memorable. Here are my shout outs *G* :
Melissa: it was so nice to see YOU out, as I rarely do! And nice to meet you friend as well!:D
Jay: you are so much fun but I still have to beat you up for showing up at Vic's after I had already left!
Erin & Aaron, nice to see you two, you guys are a lot of fun! :)
Beema: so glad I finally got to meet you! I gotta get to DC one day..
John & Michelle: I am so happy you guy swere out, including coming to Vic's. A party ain't a party if John's not there!!
Dani Girl!!: My little sunshine. Your smile is the only thing that can light up the darkness in Arc! Always a blast, girlie!
Rachel: Love to see you dance, you always have a great time in your own little world! :D
Chris: I was worried the night might be done for you after your car situation, but I think it turned around completely! It was nice to see you and chill with you!
Tom & Lisa: So much fun!! I love you guys and thanks a million - especially for listening to me babble incessantly the whole way home!
Tae & Akko: You guys are adorable, just seeing you makes me smile. I am pissed that I missed your set, Tae, but I will be present for one soon!
Gaaf: I am sad I missed you set as well! But seeing you is always a joy, you are such a wonderul person!
Brian and Liz: It's great when you guys are out! Loved your shirt, Brian! :)
Okay, I am out of colors! Jayme, it was nice to see you again and dance with you under the A/C! :) Vlad, and all new TAs I met and everyone else I forgot to mention , it was great to chill with everyone. and Missy, what the heck happened to you?? Dan, I can't believe you liked that Southern Sun mix! :whip: Just kidding! And Issac (& GF) where did you guys run off to??
I MISSED CUBIE AND ARTURO tho!!! :sadgreen: Anyone I missed, sorry...I always blab on too long.
love and kisses,

What did we learn that night? We learned that Flemming is still HOT. After all these years the guy still has it. Completely different style (I mean who new that Flemming can spin GOA). He was all over the place and it was beautiful. Tremendous energy raging from GOA to Hard Trance to Hard House.
G&A in my opinion dissappoint. Right before I came I was listening to their Essential Mix on Radio 1. That was beautiful. In Arc...Well lets see "I am on the High" was a weird remix and that was coupled with playing two same tracks in different remixes back to back. As Rush Comes was beautiful but Southern Sun...Come on...Just spin the original mix and you will be fine...Other than that I thought the set was weak. Could have much better. Listen to Essential Mix or any of the Global DJ broadcasts and I am sure you will agree. But it was beautiful to see the club packed and it was great to hear true trance on the floor of NYC best club. I hope it is a beginning. |

i knew. i still remember that essential mix of his ("and now we're proud to present, shaken, not stirred, John '00' Fleming" -pete) that was hosted on TA a few years back. the entire last 45 mins or so was psy and goa (that was a hella good set btw, just like his one at arc was).
houpla for dj's with skill!
boo for dave dresden's weak mixing (i demand a personal apology ;) ) |

i am totally shocked after reading this thread, cuz i thought g&d blew the roof off arc!!! i was only there for a little bit of flemings set, and it was good- but definitely not the highlight of the night. i have been waiting to see g&d for so long, and they were everything i was hoping for and more. josh gabriel was the coolest guy ever, i had such a blast talking to him and finding out any goodies they have in store for us! ;) he blew us away when he played as the rush comes and then the markus schulz rmx of it--- soooo hot. i think my mind was so overly stimulated at that point, im still not fully recovered! i definitely cannot get as the rush comes out of my head since that night!
best tracks of night:
PAVEMENT CRACKS
as the rush comes
beautiful things
one for the road
you wont see me cry (schulz and dresden rmx)
summer calling vocals
on a high
TRAVELLING ON....w00t
it was awesome FINALLY meeting some of ya'll fine people, and seeing the regs as well-
tek: im feelin that hat
babytek: you are beautiful! you 2 are so cute :)
bri: smile gorgeous as always
john: you are taller than i expected! hehe thanks for the guestlist
daniela: cutie patootie
beema: thanks for the pics! :)
vlad: thanks for saying hi (at the end of the night!)
brian: i must make an as the rush comes shirt
vic: thanks for that awesome party! your loft is off the hook, i must steal
new york was once again a blast...hopefully ill make it up there to see armin, so ya'll better go again! vics after party was definitely chill...that was really cool of g&d to come out and spin again . i think the coolest part of talking to josh was how flattered and excited he was to know me and my friends came all the way from maryland to see them. he embraced us in this huge hug when we told him that! hell yeah, id fly to malaysia to see them spin again! night was awesome, music was awesome, crowd was bangin...and of course special shout out to my boy aaron- thanks for making the night even more beautiful :) |

We have absolutely nothing against what he played, it was the way it was played that turned us off.. the mixing was weak.. he tragically messed up on one of the mixes he was doing.. and after J00F, the stuff they played was down tempo and it slowed us down. |

| Oh yea, dont forget.. G&D played the Clocks bootleg from their essential mix, but no vocals, instead it was over lapped with vocals from another song. |
