i dont think that Ludacris' complaints stem from 'falling victim'. Orielly simply made an uninformed, rediculously biased statement about Rap music- a genre im sure he has never learned anything about. he is wrong because he was against Ludacris but not the Osbournes. and furthermore he was wrong because HE got to decide what is right/wrong.
he is just a talking head on tv. the problem is that he doesnt know what he is talking about, and that people take action afterwards. thank god Bill Orielly is protecting America! :rolleyes: |
to those that know *anything* about hip hop, they would see that while he uses 'swear words' Ludacris is pretty much a college students rapper- hell he started out interning for a major Atlanta radio station. even if Orielly was out to make hip hop and pepsi 'safer' for the average US citizen, Ludacris isnt where the problem stems. and the Osbournes dont rate much better if morality is what you are after... |

can we get one thing straight please, b/c before you continue to slam someone else for stating their opinion, let's get the FACTS straight. Ludacris is a RAPPER, NOT A HIP-HOP artist. Hip-hop, and I'm speaking about it's true form, are groups like Jurrasic 5. THAT is true hip-hop. Guys like Ludacris, 50 (cent, oops), etc are rappers. Hell, 50 cent can barely ing talk, so calling him a rapper is a stretch.

EDIT: I just thought it was funny b/c you said "to anyone who knows *anything* about hip-hop, when you yourself don't seem to know wtf it is, b/c you put Ludacris in that group, when he is clearly not. REAL hip-hop artists have taken s with more talent than Ludacris :D |

First of all, times are as hard as you make them. Maybe that doesn't apply to children as much b/c they are so easily manipulated, but not JUST black children are easily manipulated. I would say as children, it doesn't matter what kind of economic background you come from when dealing with giving into advertising, b/c companies/corporations know what the hell they are doing. When I said black youth, I was talking in the teenager range. My point was that studies have SHOWN that black youth are by far the most suceptable to advertising and marketing tools, and this ranges well into their mid 20's. As far as "ohhh, the poor black kids who succumb to marketing b/c they are held down," don't give me this line of bull, b/c that's all it is, imo. There have been COUNTLESS documented success stories from the poorer, black communities. It is the year 2003, so it's about time they (blacks) stop using society as a crutch.
The same could be said about the richest of children, but ones who get beaten or molested or ANYHTING that would create a serious disadvantage in their upbringing. It's just funny how blacks, the majority of the time, are the first ones to blame society for their misfortunes. Seriouslly, it's the 21st century, get over it. |

well said. i am honestly tired of the white man is holding is down b.s. a lot of has happened to many cultures around the world. yet it really makes me quite angry when i hear this about black people wanting to sue companies because at one time they owned slaves. that.

Don't call it "ignorance", call it being misinformed. Some people just happen to place a little more emphasis on the important things in life, a category thankfully devoid of rap and hip-hop, and the actions of its "artists" (which, consequently, is a disgrace to the word artist and to those who actually belong in the category (meaning they have skill)). |

| The music behind rap/hip hop and trance may bear some similarities, but the blatant idiocy contained in the lyrics of the former does enough to bastardize the entire genre and make it the laughing stock of the music industry. |
