| just gotta vent... i'm a waitress and quite tired of people not saying, please or thank you, or any courteous words. i'll walk up to greet a table and not even get to say hello, i just get, "i'll have a gin and tonic. mary, what do you want?" it's not like i work in a cheap restaurant either, these people should really no better. even when ordering dinner, it's: "give me crab cakes with a baked potato." i'm begging y'all, save civilization and be civilized! |

I thought racism was "old fashioned?" You don't hear of any lynchings these days.....

You are right, after working with public for 5 years I've seen everything, I think I could write a book on how stupid some people can be..
No wonder mankind is going for self-destruction
BTW If its a classy restaurant that could be the answer, oddly enough rich people are often the cheapest cause they dont know the real value of money enough to appreciate it, and are rather centered on material stuff instead of humans |

Yes i hate ppl who are not civilised, i always say thanks, thankyou
or cheers,
It bugs me when i open the door for anyone and they dont say thankyou
that bugs me, it might not bug anyone else. but for me it does bug.
even ppl in cars when you give way to them, some put there hands up
to say thanks, while other twats (usually stuck up ppl) just drive
on through:whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip:

Hey it's like that in the uk now too. People just have no manners or respect for others. The door thingy pisses me off - The other week I held a door open for a woman who hadn't reached it yet. She walked straight through and didn't appear to even see me.
How many car drivers don't aknowledge it when you let them out now - loads.
Walked behind a kid the other day who was undoing sweets and dropping papers everywhere.
Bubble gum dropped on the pavement - where I live, in places it looks like it has been snowing.
I guess its just a sad sign of the world we live in today where a lot of adults haven't even got manners, so theres no way they are going to teach their kids the right way. It makes me mad too. We all have to live here and it could be a much nicer place. But I fear it will get a lot worse before it gets any better (if it does!).
Yep, in total agreement with you. Ok tirade over. |

yeah, I know what you mean...
I remember alot of times when I was walking down the street with a friend (a girl), and ppl along the way kept hollering at her.... whisteling and making sexual comments about her.....
I mean, wtf!? dammit! have some respect for others!!!
it used to happen alot when me and ex were together and I was walking with her..... in addittion to comments like "kiss her, man!" or we were in the middle of a kiss and some dude walks up to us and goes "get a room and her" or something like that......
ppl just can't mind their own god damn business.....
P.S. most of the ppl who make those comments are young kids.... like 13 or 14.... which amazes me even more..... the nerve.... |

One of my biggest peeves is when you go out of your way to hold the door for someone and they don't even thank or even acknowledge you.
Once I was at a Swiss Chalet and as I was walking out I see about 6 nasty fat ladies about to walk in. Each of them had about 2-3 kids with them, some in strollers.
So as I walked out, I politely held the door so they could all walk in. Not only did they not say thank you, none of them even bothered to look at me or even acknowledge me. On top of that, they were just taking their sweet ass time walking in, some of them were even waiting at the door for her friends while I stand there looking like a dufus
like that really pisses me off. So once I made sure all the kids walked in first and as the last lady walked by and didn't acknowledge me, I just let the door go and bam! it slammed in her face. She was like "WTF???"
I was just so pissed, that it felt soo good. |
