btw i think its realllllllllly funny how like 50% of the people in this thread are bitching about how ATRC is now mainstream cuz it was played on KTU, yet in other threads they gripe about how the song is so old and overplayed. pick your battles!!

boys boys boys....i don't think theres ANYthing wrong with a man telling a woman "she's right" ;)

haha, no seriously...maybe he did agree with me. this is a forum where you are gonna agree AND disagree with people. and maybe he was just agreeing with the last part....wait, WHO CARES? i think there needs to be a "removing the pole up everyones arse" day for TA....seriously!!!

I've come to the conclusion that many TA's are just plain selfish. They want to keep trance underground and for themselves. I, on the other hand, want everyone in this universe to blast trance. I agree, if a song is good, it won't matter how many times you play it, it will always be good. If you start to get tired of a song, then it was never good in the first place. I still blast old stuff like it was new like ATRC and other songs from tiesto and andain. Spread trance, don't bottle it up and keep it for yourselves. Or else it will die. Learn from rap. It used to be underground. Now rap is everywhere. Tupac, 50cent, Eminem. I wish trance would someday be like that, everywhere. Then I won't have to hear crappy music on the radio, tv, street, etc. One Nation, Trance Nation baby!

So what your saying is you want Trance to become Crappy bull corporate music where anyone can put some beats together and put it out there and call it good.... Thanks but no thanks... We aren't being selfish, we are being realistic, get a clue.

Again Agreed...

as far as TiTi's comment on rap...well many many rap fans think todays rap is terrible....and too "poppy"...

Why is this?....hhhhhmmm because everyone sees that if you throw together a few half ass rhymes and loop a 4 second beat for 5 minutes then you too can become a rap star....

Compare todays rappers to before it was SOOOO mainstream...
Rakim, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, D-Nice, Tribe Called Quest, Guru etc etc etc did for the art of the music....Eminem and the rest of these new found corporate boardroom artists do it because they see the profit, they see they can drive the benz or what have you....and todays rappers compared to yesterdays rappers are a joke

Rakim is by far the best rapper ever to walk this planet...and you can ask any hardcore rap fan and they will tell you the same...but he wasnt all over the radio, the way Eminem or 75 Cent are:rolleyes: ....

There is no argueing the fact that the minute the CEO in the board-room sees the potential profits in Trance, they will embrace, smother it, and in the end leave it to rot in the alley after the fad has died out....this is a fact!!!

Like i said the more mainstream it gets, the more producers you will see because people will see that they can make fast cash if they produce tracks in volume very fast to be pushed onto the radio...and when that happens you will have very crappy tracks....this has already started in late 2002...2003's Trance is horrible...and will contnue to get worse as American radio fowls it up...how else can you explain tracks like Benni Benassi - Satisfaction or Oakenfolds - Starrey Eyed Crap, or Tiesto's Traffic....""all mainstream melodic pump it on your radio while cruising around after the mall with your double expresso, hair jell, Armani shirts, while drinking your whey protein shake Trance".....ugh disgusts me

:nervous: I like Traffic... lol... I think it gets worse, KTU crap like Dj Sammy who call themselves Trance Producers... I hate to break it to ya, but besides a couple of shows here and there Party 93.1 in Miami is esssentially the same bull...

i understand where you're 'traditionalists' are coming from, the more stays underground, the better the qualitiy usually is.. but i have a hard time telling people that dont listen to trance that i like trance, because, well their idea of trance is castles in the sky, i like the idea of these songs hitting the radio scene, but like some said, i wish it wasnt ktu.
TiTi
True there are many kids wanting to be rappers. But I see it in trance too. Everbody wants to be a dj. Just look at the TA events. You get these people all wanting to spin and think they are good. If you can beatmatch, then you can dj. Haha! As for rap, rappers young and old agree that Eminem, Tupac, Jay-Z, Nas... are good. Those old rappers mentioned will agree Eminem got skills. And I resent the comment about Oakey. He is still the greatest dj, period. The range he's got, hip hop to trance is unmatched. His livesets are awesome. IMO, I still think all you are selfish. You feel less special if more people listen to trance. You all feel like you are better than other people. I get that from the KTU bashing. Even if trance goes mainstream, there will always be good and bad trance to choose from. It's not like all trance will be bad. Just like not all rap is bad.
