| You misinterpret... This isn't about who is better. Its about protecting what we believe is good/quality music, from corporate record-labels. KTU is running along those lines. We have all seen the degradation of other forms of music due to this. You can listen to KTU all you want, you can disagree all you want, and we can argue semantics all day. The fact is I and many people believe that KTU is the antithesis of quality. I would suggest going to www.clubplanet.com and searching for a recent thread made by a KTU staffer under the New York forum of the messageboard, I think you will understand, in fact I will post a link in a second. |

WLIR plays good music sometimes (their dance songs are played on friday and saturday nites after 10, but if one is to listen to it 2 nites in a row (like if you are stuck somewhere w/ no CD player but only a radio one can see this) then it can be repetitive.
i too, was also introduced to many dance tunes from that station! |

So I'll take your word for it that they suck. But what do you think of other radio stations playing popular trance? Say, the Party93 station in Miami? Do you support what they do? What about Kiss100 where Digweed plays? And Armin's ASOT station, ID&T? I think of the dutch station 938 too? What about these? Don't they "commercialize" trance also? I think Armin's ASOT plays popular trance, I use the word "popular" loosely though. And I won't even touch how much these dj's make. Aren't promoters killing trance too? Or are you one of the many here that pay $50+ for a PvD party? In summary, I agree with you that KTU is bad, but I think trance can find a place on the radio. I look at house as an example. It is quite mainstream, maybe more so in the UK and France. But they seem to be putting out quality house tracks. Can't trance be as popular as house without losing quality? Any thoughts? |

KTU playing ATRC is not good in my opinion, Party93 in florida playing ATRC is a lot better, but not fully because thay play alot of Hip Hop and cheezy dance music too. what i think is that we need to have a EDM ONLY station in NY. Digitally Imported could do that easily (money is the only prob.) they have a huge community, they have 10 thousands of people at their peak times listening to EDM. and thats only ppl on PC. They could have separate times for Trance, Hard Trance, House, Dance or mixed up. thats where i would be proud to listen ATRC. |

There is a BIG difference between Europe and the States with regards to music. Party 93.1 is ok, they have a few good shows but the rest is crapola. I think a radio-station with a better format, might get my support. Its just that I really don't like having ATRC lumped together with Jay-Z and Spears, and all of those other jackasses... :) |
