well, don't get me wrong, I'm a liberal too, I just think you're... confused.
"Mexico doesn't have enough blue-collar jobs"? WTF??? It practically ONLY HAS blue-collar jobs, that's why you see low-paid construction workers everywhere, etc. There's not enough WHITE-collar HI-TECH jobs.
"Retire at 25"? Are you mentally challenged? What the hell are you gonna do and how will you earn your living and prosper????
Man, I'm serious, get a clue.. |

What you forgot to mention was: Very few opportunities compared to the US, only 3-4 cities, very high taxes. And that prized "welfare" program that you boasted about, does not even compare with the American one, because America actually provides for seniors who immigrate here, whereas Canada does not. That's why, for families with elderly parents, Canada is not an option. It's only an attractive for young people with no commitments to elderly relatives.

Im not quite sure what you mean by very few oppurtunities?
And we don't have very high taxes. It's true that America has lower taxes but a huge amount of the tax breaks go to very rich people which doesn't seem very reasonable. People who can afford to pay a lot of taxes should, and they have no right to complain about it. I think you'll find that comparing here and there poor people probably pay a similar rate between the two and rich people probably pay a lot less there. Do you think that is any better?
Im not an expert on Canada, or America's welfare systems but anyone who is a citizen here would be entitled to it, I assume it is the same there. And you also have some very restrictive policies about who can recieve welfare, and people are given more here.
I would like to restate that I dont think Canada is by any means great, but I do think the Unites States is awful, especially considering the resources you have. |

for instance, jobs and the economy.
How many hi-tech Canadian companies are there? I know Corel. That's about it. How many opportunities are there, compared to the US, to start a successful business, or be employed in a hi-tech company?
There's very few people living in Canada and I could very well say what you did: "Considering your resources", you're not doing very well. In other words you need a lot more people to pump up your country. Nobody takes it seriously or gives a about it (that's a related issue) - nothing against Canada, BTW.
Besides, you don't have better education.
The world's best research universities -- MIT, Harvard, Yale, Berkeley -- where everyone around the world wants to apply, are in the US. And we also lead in the number of research publications and scientific journals, for example. Did you know that the US is not actually half as bad in terms of education as people think? I can cite you a report that for example Germany's education system is far inferior to America's. |

| I would like to remind the Canadians posting here that they are guilty of the same fanaticism and hatred of which they accuse the US. "The USA is awful"? "CNN always lies"? Do you even know how immature you look posting these absolutisms? |

the united states is AWFUL? now you really are a ing moron man...seriously time to get your head checked out...maybe a cranial lobotomy should help...anyways no country is PERFECT...every country has its faults and the states is included but how can the united states be awful when we have the number one economy in the world and thousands of immigrants flock to the states every year to start new lives...cuz america provides lots of opportunities for everyone to succeed...the standard of living here is among the top in the world
you said something about canada's education system being better than americas...no one is doubting canada has a good education system but how can u say its better when we have YALE, STANFORD, HARVARD, MIT, PRINCETON, etc etc all these universities are world RENOWN and tops among the world in research and the fields of study they are in...who the recognizes any colleges from CANADA? everyone else in the world recognizes all the great colleges we have but what about canada? when i ask people what good colleges are in canada they go "huh?"
PS: i understand why anyone would criticize a country cuz each country has its faults but for saying some as proposterous as "The Living in the US is awful" you deserve to be shot for your blind ignorance and misknowledge |
