no there are people that like the genre, but usually they like crap and don't have good taste at all.

lol if that were true there would only be like 28 people in the whole country or something.

About 5 years ago I introduced almost everyone that went to my high school to trance music and raves. When I was in my junior year I was only 1 of 3 people at my whole school that even knew what a rave was or trance music for that matter. I first took a couple friends to a rave (after about a month of begging for them to come and check it out). From there the scene blew up in my school. By the end of senior year about 70% of everyone I knew were going to raves and listening to trance. Now almost everyone I know listens to trance/drum&bass/house/proggressive. I think america is starting to come around slowly but surely. (Jesus I can't believe I just typed all that):whip:

In the last 2 years it has become really popular in slovenia to be a rapper so i guess about 50% of the youth listens to things like nelly, and they call 2pac god of rap even though the only songs they heard from him are changes and california love:haha: Other than that id say most other people listen to some sort of rock and or metal, then mtv crap and finaly about 10% of us listen to electronic music, though i might be wrong as the kandy kid syndrome is not popular here and most poeple dress casual all the time :)

The sad thing that almost nobody listens to trance. The big hit here is techo, almost as big house and trance is hiding somewhere in a croner while some of us are trying to get it out in the open :(

i don't wanna offence the americans, but MTVeurope just recently began showing the american MTV shows and honestly i'm terrified! what kind of ty music is this? i would personally agree to erase my memory about TRL!:nervous: :nervous: :nervous:

anywho... if i had thoughts to leave lithuania, now i've decided not to :haha: :haha: :haha:

DISCLAIMER: Yes, this is a flame...

what the fsck is your problem.. just fyi brooklyn bounce, Alice Deejay are BOTH artists.. cheese from hell.. Last time I checked it's impossible to objectively measure the amount of "ravers" in a country, the U.S. has 287 million people in it, what am i going to do??? poll them and ask "do you wear glow in the dark jewelry and dance like a loony on crack (close enough, mdma actually) running on an invisible nordic track to crappy tunes caned by the local production company DJ's (as in party production companies)and the occasional "all show" talent they bring (like DJ IRENE...

seriously WTF?, big party in seattle next week (at least for seattle) and "DJ IRENE" is headlining, what a joke). I for one, am not a "RAVER", ... i'm an edm enthusiast (or addict rather) that occasionally enjoys an e-tab =). No neon glow jewelry, or overly baggy pants (call em phat pants round here).. You need to get a clue, "raves" are long dead. by the way, you can tune to any radio station and hear "alice deejay/IVD/brooklyn bounce" during their dance sets (which are a joke). You aren't even in the position to be jaded, boy do you look dumb. P.S. MTV IS A JOKE EVERYWHERE!!!!!!! I can't believe you just dissed 287 million people based on it... get real, i hope not everyone in lithuania is like you

ok, what should i start from?.. 1rst, i don't understand your quotes bout alice deejay/brooklyn bounce... if your mommy had tought you to read when you were a brat, you would probably undrstand that my MOM listens to alice d and brooklyn bounce. (thoug if i were you i wouldn't say they are ty in Germany or the Netherlands).

do i ask you, face, to measure the raver percent objectively? i just wanted to share the world about the dance music scene in different countries as all of us are keen on it, but nooooo, some sissy comes and acts if he was a god (i mean YOU).

MTV is a joke everywhere? if you saw MTVeuropes friday programme with DanceFloor Charts and Accellerate, that plays the best dance music, you'd probably pissed your pants.

rave is dead??? heh, now boy, do YOU look dumb (vice versa isn't it?) if you just transported your butt to loveparade'03 you'd probably your pants and never even dare to say that rave is dead. it was forgotten for some time as trance scene took over, but now europe does ignore trance and choose techno, RAVE and sometimes drum'n'bass...

you said "i hope not everyone in LTU is like you" - now that's almost the most childish thing i've ever heard in my entire life. you even don't know my name and you make facts about all the lithuanians...

btw who the is DJ irene?
Lost Inhibition
DJ Irene = Ugly Ass American DJ who spins disco house and bleah... hard house.....

Last time i checked loveparade was a streetparade (rather, a "street parade"... streetparade is one aswell).. not a rave you tit. Rave is practically an archaic term that describes warehouse parties that were illegal back in the '80s and early '90s. Somehow when promoter's started getting licenses for these parties they kept getting called raves (after all.. same music, same crowd). It's intellectually dishonest to say that a "rave" today is the same thing they were back then, in fact, it's dishonest to suggest they are even similar. The music has evolved, the crowd has evolved.. The people that still call themselves ravers in the states are the ignorant son of a bitches with glow in the dark jewelery covering their body, huge pants (could easily fit 20 people in them) and an insatiable urge for ecstasy.

As for gathering a general population count as to how many people are EDM enthusiasts, ITS IMPOSSIBLE to even get close. This thread was bull from the start. I don't want to get into statistical analysis (cos i don't know about it), but to even gather a roughly good statistic (+/- 5%) you would have to poll several thousand people in washington state (population 5.5 mil) at complete random. Saying "well all my friends... and oh my mom" groove to EDM (electronic dance music) is not "indicitave" of lithuania's EDM core population segment. Saying "well we have 4 radio stations that play dance music" is not "indicitave" or at least not to the degree you would like it to be. I *honestly* doubt that any country has more than 7-8% of it's population truly interested in EDM. Magnasoma pointed this out about 10 posts ago but you called him an idiot?!?

I never said electronica parties were dead, when i said rave, i referred to the word, not what people are referencing to when they say it. I read exactly what you posted, and yes, technically you said "your mom" listens to it but i believe if im not mistaken you were also leaving it to the reader to infer that it's also the type of music you listen to. I actually have 8 foreign exchange students staying at a friends house in the summer and one of the first things i did was interrogate them about dance music. They were clueless, they've "heard of" loveparade, and paul van dyk, and scooter... beyond that, nothing (btw they think scooter sucks ^^).

Oh, and about "MTVEUROPES DANCEFLOOR CHART" that is supposedly elusive i guess.. hmm 2 minutes on the internet

1 Junior Jack - E Samba
2 Benny Benassi - Satisfaction
3 Paul Van Dyk - Nothing But You
4 Scooter - The Night
5 Moloko - Forever More
6 Sylver - Why Worry
7 David Guetta - Just For One Day
8 Bob Sinclair - Kiss My Eyes
9 Dannii Minogue - Don't Wanna Lose This Groove
10 Delerium - After All
11 Snap! - The Power of Bhangra
12 In-grid - In-tango
13 Tiga - Hot in Herre
14 DJ Sammy - Sunlight
15 Room 5 - Make Luv
16 Junkie XL - Catch Up to My Step
17 Sonique - Alive
18 Dario G - Heaven Is Closer
19 Saffron Hill - My Love Is Always
20 Darude - Music

how is most of that any differnt from "alice deejay/brooklyn bounce"... its cheese with the exception of maybe after all (although the original kind of sucks in a hard kind of way), NBY and music, perhaps the JXL track aswell.. (haven't heard it). I don't have to listen to "danni minogue" to tell you it's cheese . My pant's are not ting my friend.. what's wrong?

BTW DJ irene is some lesbian tit from L.A. that spins crap hard house, she really really sucks but her image takes her places in the states.... shady places at least..:nervous: :nervous: :nervous:

:gsmile: :toothless

*edit* btw i was being "sarcastic" when i said "i hope not everyone in lithuania is like you"..

first thing first... i know it's MY problem, not yours, but i'm not english nor american and i didn't understand half of a crap you wrote in 2-3 paragraphs, cause you were using as we call high terms. now imagine i'm sorry for that...

next thing: boy, you say i listen to alice d etc.... i don't even listen to trance music! and honey, you'd probably go insane if you get a taste of the FORM of tribal techno that i enjoy listening to. however i know that you'll never hear it as it has never gone further than europe.

third thing: as i remember when dannii minogue collaborated with RIVA, their track was no1 everywhere where trance music is listened to. furthermore, tranceaddict.com ish sharing RIVA's songs even now, as we speak.

i would like to see american dancefloor charts... would you be so kind and sharing it with me.............. oh silly me, YOU DON'T HAVE ANY DANCEFLOOR CHARTS....

foreign exchange studens.... so i should interpret foreign as european or what? maybe foreign as from antarctica if we know the fact that they only know scooter...

well if you just could tune in 95.9 or 104.7FM in lithuania you'd probably get a load of the best dj's sets of the world all day long. i should interpret that you don't believe me or smth about the radio stations....

'I *honestly* doubt that any country has more than 7-8% of it's population truly interested in EDM' - your words, remember...
now i can proudly say that you have never been to europe (espec eastern europe)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i know about raves and i have an urge for XTC, so what... at least i know them from experience and you have only theory.... so today i'm heading to a tribal techno party with loads of XTC is that make me any worse...
your problem is that you are an smartass or smth calling my thread a and me a looser... get a look at yourself in the mirror...:whip:
