next thing: boy, you say i listen to alice d etc.... i don't even listen to trance music! and honey, you'd probably go insane if you get a taste of the FORM of tribal techno that i enjoy listening to. however i know that you'll never hear it as it has never gone further than europe.

third thing: as i remember when dannii minogue collaborated with RIVA, their track was no1 everywhere where trance music is listened to. furthermore, tranceaddict.com ish sharing RIVA's songs even now, as we speak.

i would like to see american dancefloor charts... would you be so kind and sharing it with me.............. oh silly me, YOU DON'T HAVE ANY DANCEFLOOR CHARTS....

foreign exchange studens.... so i should interpret foreign as european or what? maybe foreign as from antarctica if we know the fact that they only know scooter...

well if you just could tune in 95.9 or 104.7FM in lithuania you'd probably get a load of the best dj's sets of the world all day long. i should interpret that you don't believe me or smth about the radio stations....

'I *honestly* doubt that any country has more than 7-8% of it's population truly interested in EDM' - your words, remember...
now i can proudly say that you have never been to europe (espec eastern europe)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i know about raves and i have an urge for XTC, so what... at least i know them from experience and you have only theory.... so today i'm heading to a tribal techno party with loads of XTC is that make me any worse...
your problem is that you are an smartass or smth calling my thread a and me a looser... get a look at yourself in the mirror...:whip:

I've dropped more than a couple e's in my day aswell.. perhaps that was rather hypocritical of me to say. Yes, all those "foreign" exchange students are all from eastern europe, germany to be exact (western germany, near the rhine). I'm glad you have a different taste in dance music than what the charts list and what most ta's listen to.

to avoid dragging this out into a even worse flamewar I'm just going to say sorry for insulting you personally.

cheers:D :D

P.S. I'm pretty sure "urge" wasn't the english word you were looking for.. perhaps desire? :thepirate

well i should be sorry for my 'hot' temper . i guess...

just the last critique: Germany is in Western Europe partially in Central... tho lithuania has a european centre mark near the capital, we still are called eastern europe with countries like latvia, estonia (that one sux!):stongue: :haha:  , belorus & russia...

chin chin (what we say for cheers:D :D )
p.s. did i use a word "urge"?:conf:

lol if that were true there would only be like 28 people in the whole country or something.

that sounds about right. most of my old "raver" friends have turned to one of 3 places:

1. they're a drug addict
2. they've moved on to the club scene
3. they've settled down to a home life

i went down the 3rd route

Most American "raves" are just as much BS as the mainstream rap and pop crap. They've largely become mainstream venues for rebellion and an expression of drug culture. Anyone who is halfway serious about their devotion to EDM has probably stopped going to that generic crap and started going to clubs that actually bring in halfway respectable talent ... and at the very least anybody who says they are going to a "rave" instead of saying they are going to see xxx artist/dj is pretty much a moron. Not to sure about Europe, but haven't all the good artists moved into clubs since the 90's?

canada: 1/500? and that includes people who listen to electronic music casually... thats about right i think..

This is what the so called dance/electronica sections in the US usually have in the way of CD's, just to give you an idea.
Junior Senior
Moby
Fatboy Slim
Underworld
The Crystal Method
Bjork
Gorillaz
Junior Vasquez
Aphex Twin
Goldfrapp
Kosheen
Orbital
Paul Van Dyk

That pretty much sums up what even the already small minority listen to in this country...

most of my friends like different forms of dance, but then i know more people that like mainstream.

:/

tough one to call, but i wouldnt say there're no UK 'ravers'

Most people where I live like rap/hip hop. But I like it that way! For me EDM holds special meaning for me. Its reminds me of the happy memories I've had. I think if everybody liked EDM I wouldn't like it as much, because instead of representing love and happiness, it would remind me of pop culture and all the cruel and shallow people who follow behind it.

It also helps usually when I'm meeting girls, because I stand out from the crowd and it makes me more interesting to talk to. A lot of times girls say something like "I've never been to one of those 'rave parties' but I've always wanted to go."

The sad thing that almost nobody listens to trance. The big hit here is techo, almost as big house and trance is hiding somewhere in a croner while some of us are trying to get it out in the open :(

Ya, same here, except that you should substitute rap for rnb.

hey gwrmarines go yourself , either call asians, asians or call them by their ethnicity. Don't call asian's gooks you racist son of a bitch.

monoxide in all your posts you try to make LTU sound like the most unique, exotic place in the world. By this i mean that you talk about how LTU is just so different and far out their from their european neighbors and indeed the world. How you have the "hardest" language to learn. How all of you guys are pagan's etc etc. Just and observation. very patriotic, but it's a bit overbearing.
