um just because someone went to a private school, doesnt mean they didnt grow up in a rough area. there is 1 private grade school in my town, and a major gang called the MS 13 own the street over. quit with the stupid stereotypes and biased views on garage. you all sound like the middle aged women here in america who bitch and moan and try to stop their kids from listening to hip hop. granted there is some trash in the genre, but i could just as easily say that about anything, including trance.

Sorry, do you live in the UK?

There are no areas like that here, this country is full of twats who think they are in gangs, NONE of them actually are in gangs.

Tim Westwood is a white man, aged about 45. He grew up in some market town in the middle of the English countryside, went to a private school and his father was a senior bishop. Yet he talks like he is right out of some American ghetto. Urban music is a parody of itself... the vast majority of it is pathetic ffs.

Its amazing how people on here will call certain trance cheese, but then they say they like commercial hip hop etc.

Anyway, agreed with MDMA and Phorte. As long as you look away from all the die hard poseur UK garage out there(which most often is crappily produced as well,I heard a So Solid show once, the music was so cheap and pap sounding I almost burst out laughing),there are some pretty cool stuff to listen to,esp the harder, dubby tracks. Some tracks I like:

Agent X - Decoy
Agent X - Killahertz
Shola Ama - Imagine (Asylum Remix) <- if you don't mind r'n'b check this.
MJ Cole tracks
Lonyo - Garage Girls (Sunship Mix)
Re-Animator - Return To E (Horsepower Productions Mix)
Horsepower Productions - Smokin’
Faithless - We Come 1 (Wookie Remix)
DBX - Magic
Jameson - Urban Hero
Wookie - Back Up (To Me) (DJ Zinc Mix)

i used to listen to it in 99-00 and still listen to a bit now. The majority of garage back then was crap, and all of the stuff produced now is utter wank. However, i suggest these tracks

Kci & JoJo - Tell me its real (Club Asylum Steppers Mix)
Y-Tribe - Enough is Enough
Dynamite - Dynamite
DJ Luck & MC Neat - Aint No Stoppin Us
Mysteeq - Why & All I want (original mixes best in both cases)
Monsta Boy feat Denzie - Sorry (I Didnt Know)
Arful Dodges feat Romina Johnson - Movin Too Fast
Oxide & Neutrino - Terminator

etc

dont buy albums, theyre full of crap

i used to be a garage head back in 200 (i think) when it was fashionable, and i have no shame in saying it, none of that commercial bollox tho, proper underground 2-step biznizz ;)
