| Well like Tiger777 said, it will be fine for home use, the gains and EQ make a BIG difference, especially the gains, there never even close to half way, and the Master is always set at half, and it POUNDS my system, there is plenty of BASS for all you bass freaks, although my amp does make a good amount of bass, well this mixer changed that, honestly if anything, this thing is TOO powerful, I dunno maybe I have a freaky DJX or something, and as for its ease of use, I think this will vary from DJ to DJ, but cos I'm used to the DJM500, for me its easier than easy. |

a mixer is damn important but my logic was, ok, how ghetto am i gonna look when i show up to one of my gigs w/ the hdj-1000 headphones, tons of vinyl, and some stanton dj craze needles on the stanton headshell? errrrr, kinda ghetto, especially since i had been using them like crazy for 8 months. and when you spin out, they always have a nice mixer. (not talkin' bout house parties...)
this seems like a great mixer for the price, and for home use. i've been keeping my eye on it for 4 months or something...
as for recording, i used soundforge and it was great. you have to check your levels and your master outs , and the sound card can be a concern. plus the amt. of memory your comp. has.
start a new thread about that, cuz i really don't know anything about it. i had my levels set for me... ;) |

If you like the mixer so much, then go BUY IT!! I bought mine off of Ebay for 189.99 brand new.
Then again, you ARE from Jersey...so maybe you oughta check out Ebay. |

i have a decent computer that i was using to record, it's a 2.4 GHz, P4, 512MB of ram, and enough harddrive space to record 24 hours of music at 32kbit, but i found that the recording was crap, my levels were mostly low, and the recording was still like crap... also, my crossfader was set on smooth, when i put it on sharp, it sounded a little bit better, but only half the eq band was being used, and it didn't have full effect on the sounds. i haven't bought a new card yet, maybe i will start that thread, look out for it.
HURRAY FOR THE POOR COLLEGE STUDENTS!!!

| hey drummeraver, how do you like the new mixer... i was looking at it on ebay, and am thinking of buying it, i just got my paycheck, and it's just enough for me to get the damn mixer... next on the list!!! shure white labels!!! (that's gonna take me forever) |

Well, after mucking around with one in the store for an hour or so, I bought it.
The short story:
. The effects are next to useless (but I already own a Pioneer EFX-500, so that may be colouring my judgement)
. The BPM counters aren't anywhere near as the ones on my Pioneer CDJ-1000 or EFX-500
. The sound quality is superb for a mixer in this price range
. NO clicks-or-pops when changing channels/using kill swtiches/changing phono-line
. X-Fader is quite nice to use
. The channels not selected on the X-fader (A/B assign) are thru'd to the main bus (ie, you can use the channel faders for them)
All in all, when it comes to a nice 4-channel mixer, the price simply can't be beat. The sound is great, the EQs are nicely spaced, it's easy to use. Yes, it does have its gimicky bits, like the surround (jury is still out on XPQ), the beat matching/BPM stuff, and pretty much all the effects, but all the important stuff they got right.
I'm enjoying it, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a 4 channel mixer that they're using for home/friends parties.
I don't think clubs will be getting them any time soon though :)
When the warranty is out on mine, the effects processor is going to be replaced with a nice sparkly new TI DSP of some sort (probably an OMAP, so I can do the automation of the DSP from the ARM core) |

well, i haven't gotten it quite yet. and actually i'm kind of worried. I sent the guy an e-mail to confirm the payment two days ago, and he didn't answer me. So i sent another e-mail, and he still hasn't responded.
Edit: I just called the people and they said that all is fine...they just don't they their e-mails often.:p :rolleyes: |

| i also bought this. Its good so far. Effects are almost useless except for flanger and filter. Sound is good, especially with the help of that xpq. I could tell a big different. It seems pretty sturdy. the faders are nice, etc. its pretty good! |

| *got back from spain about an htwo hours ago, had djx700 in room waiting to b opened* yay! w00t! wooohooo! this mixer ing owns! i cant stop playing with it, itsa huge as well. definatly not gona have room on this desk for the cdj100s x 2 im gettin in a couple of weeks. i need a bigger table. this mixer owns btw, sound quality is awsum. kills r amazing, and the eq's r really smooth and sound great. i wont b sleeping tonite, gona play some more, and when i do eventualy sleep, the djx700 will b acompaning me to my bed :D |
