I don't think so, unless you are referring to "nerd culture" whose existence (within the stereotypical definition) is debatable and is certainly not a prevalent thing.

Intelligent people are those that use their entire human intellectual capacity to its fullest -- learn quickly, gain the greatest benefits in social relationships, are able to quickly "place themselves in the other's shoes", "think outside the box", etc., -in addition to- the "typical" indicators of intelligence such as IQ. Although I mentioned mathematics and computer programming that is not a definitive sample of what it means to be intelligent, so I'm sorry if I was misleading.

The smartest of humans are getting smarter, but overall I'd say the human race is probably getting dumber because calculators, computers, television, all that stuff prevents people from actually having to use their brains.

:haha: I totally forgot about this! Yes, good point, this must be factored in as well, but I'm too tired right now to reconsider everything so I'll leave it at that for now. All I can say right now is that change is inevitable, and whatever happens, our psychosomatic makeup will definitely be different in the [far] future.

I'd say that we will stop making evolutionary changes as a race except for engineered ones. Over time humans will become more and more homogenous (although social classes will seperate humans for the forseeable future). Evolutionary changes can't happen when the gene pool dilutes everything so well. We reached a stasis point long ago I think. Our appearances may change slightly over the years but I believe this has more cultural influences than genetic.

we'll get bigger asses and bigger eyes and bigger ears for sitting at our computers all day long and listening to trance.

eventually we'll turn into these human blobs that would be lazy as hell cuz robots would do everything for us.

and to be slightly off-topic,

Come, boy wonder! We shall rid the world of crime!
yes! together we will thwart evil-doers and criminals alike!
To the batcave!

So, Robocop, are you prepared to clense the world of evil in the name of justice, as my trusty sidekick?
no i'm busy trying to find a good site for making a pipe-bomb

We won't lose our little toe coz it serves a very important function, and thats balance. I reakon with the ever increase in heart disease, perhaps we will be born with 2 hearts just like we are with 2 kidneys etc. I think any changes in the future tho will be achieved genetically by ourselves. For example, scientists believe that if we were forced to leave earth for whatever reason, we could genetically alter our bodies to survive on one of jupiters moons under water.

We don't NEARLY know enough to do that, and we never will unless those politicians stop fighting against stem cell research and the likes.

yes but the documentary i watched suggests we wont need the ability to do this for hundreds of thousands of years yet, and they hav no doubt that by the time we hav advanced this much that genetic engineering will be well within our limits by this time.

2 hearts, 2 livers etc are good ideas, but I think the time and effort is better spent on learning how to protect or maybe even create organs in a lab, and not modifying genes so that one would be born with a backup organ.

I'd say we'll be able to use our brain more effeciently, since we only use about 19% of our brain capacities right now, and we evolved being more intelligent with time..

I also think we'll have less body hair, since we went from monkeys to what we have today, chances are we'll keep loosing it more and more

Also we'll have bigger mouth to stuff more hamburgers in it and square tummies so we can put food or beer on it and it wont fall :D

Sadly enough we wont live to see those changes.. :(

aye.. and on a slightly related matter i guess this raises the issue of cloning. i no there are ethics involoved with cloning, but i really see no problem with the cloning of organs. i hav no doubt that one day it will be well within our grasp to achieve this, and just think how many lives would be saved.
