come on... first off, Tiësto is a more skilled DJ than armin. He has more experience. (i mean, he's not the #1 DJ by accident here....) Tiësto is also a better producer.
And yes i agree.. House of Blues SUCKS.... any place with 18+ is always going to be lame... the venue has one third the capacity as Vision, drinks are half assed, and more costly, the light show sucks, etc, etc, etc....
And i agree again, the Nyana mixed CD is boring.
But that is ok, i think most mixed CDs suck compared to the live radio broadcasts or bootleg livesets which more accurately depict a DJs true character, poise, and style. |
True that .. but if tiesto couldnt even spare enough time to make a decent CD...says a lot about his commitment doesnt it ?
IF you fell for the #1 farce...there is no point having this discussion. |

yeah yeah yeah... but in reality... these guys don't owe a commitment to anyone.
They can do whatever they want... and people will still come out in full force to see them, and still buy their records.
they're not rockstars.
However,
I will say though, Armin's acrobatics at the end of the evening, and seeing him out on the dancefloor was pretty impressive, wild, and random. |

ahhhhhhhhh I just woke up!! great great great great night..... It felt like one of the WMC nights @ Miami earlier this year, it was that intense and full of energy.....!!!
Without a doubt, this was Armin's best performance I have ever seen. My fav track was AVB remix of "As the Rush Comes".... just stellar. But there were so many more hard-hitters as well - it just kept going.... I loved that he played Dave Gahan (big DM fan I am)....
Seneca did a great job opening, made a nice contrast to Armin, kept his own style, while keeping a nice groove going. I will be looking to see where he plays next!!!! :D
ps. it was nice meeting some of you TA people at Connie's before the show - Kailya (and your crazy friends!! TRAVIS!), Sumit (rock_roll18), and everyone else!! Thanks to Seneca and Kailya for coordinating the setups!!! Who would have ever thought we would see ARMIN at Connie's Pizza!!!! Kailya I hope the pics came out OK!!!
ps2. I will be uploading PICS from the show later.. :D
ps3. you guys who got like the whole setlist down already are just CRAZY!!!!!!!! nuts :) |

Damn you Sam, you stole my tracklist thunder :p
First of, it was great to meet you all, since I finally made it to an event. Hmm to see if I can remember who I all met ...
Sam, Nick, George, Garfield, nice to finally meet you guys.
Seneca - Great set, thanks again to you and Kailya for setting everything up - looking forward to listening to your Sept Mix.
Tom - hope I didn't freak you out too much on the dance floor :p Considering I was in never-never land. Was fun IDing tracks together and finally meeting you :)
Kailya, Travis, Randy, Alexis - good to meet you all, hope it wasn't too much putting up with our antics late night. We were more than happy to put you guys up with a place to stay. Can't wait to see those pics again!
Travis you are in' nutty :P (and it's my fault)
1/2 the people I am writing to aren't even on here :p
My Motorcycle test press is already framed :)
Anyways here are some updates/additions to the tracklist
Paul van Dyk - Tell Me Why (The Riddle) (Vandit Club Mix)
POS - Remember (Summer Sun)
Solar Factor - No Return
Roland Klinkenberg - Melting Point vs P. Diddy - Let's Get Ill (Accapella) (Armin van Buuren Bootleg)
Conjure One - Staring at the Sun (Junkie XL Remix)
Binary Finary - 1998 (Ronski Speed Mix)
Olive - You're Not Alone
Max Walder - Crown (kills the crowd every time)
Afterburn - Summer Sun
Solid Globe - North Pole (gahh I died)
He played the newer Katana production too, I can't remember the name right now though.
Whoever is complaining about how this set was boring and worse than Tiesto, were you even there last night? Every single person I talked to was completely owned ... his attitude behind the decks, his crowd interactions, his technical skills - he made the night great. When he was up on the guys shoulders at the end it was priceless. He is a true class act, not some big ego pop star like Tiesto.
Again nice to meet you all, hope you had as good a time as my friends and I. Looking forward to the next meetup.
