Had a wonderful time last night.
It was awesome to meet some new TA's(uwm and co., rock_roll18, solod-1, kailya and co., whats up Travis!) and party with some other familar faces at Vision. The meetup was great with Armin there and everything. Was just a perfect start to an awesome night. And then he gave us a record:D and signed it. Such a great guy. BIG thanks to Kailya and Seneca for arranging the meetup.
Seneca did an awesome job on the opener and Armin did a great job too. Although I admit that I liked him better this past May. At least the tracks he played anyway. But it was still great and it was so cool to see him get up on the TT's and tower over the club. And then when he went down on the dancefloor during ATRC and got on that guys shoulders:crazy: Very cool.
Bobby you didnt freak me out dude. It was all good. Glad you were there to answer my "which song is this?" a few times. We gotta do it again at Zabiela. You better show up now that you're not the mystery man anymore:p
Great job on the TL guys. I knew more songs than I thought I would. But you guys covered them all.

Actually I was wondering if Armin is known for that lately... That was the most energy I've *heard* of, much less seen out of Armin :D (or any other Dj save Donald Glaude who has a rep for coming out into the crowd) Granted the crowd last night was amazing, he may have just been responding in kind. I'd compare the show in May, but my recollection and objectivity on the subject are non-existent :haha:
oh yea and my camera is being difficult, so my measly two photos will not be online any time soon.... |

Yeah I'd have to agree, the crowd last night was totally awesome. Everyone was completely into the music and all about having a good time. It was so awesome when he went down into the crowd, just getting mobbed by women and then getting raised on a pedestal :p
You could tell he was totally feeding off the crowds energy - the announcer / MC was about to grab the mic and cut the show off but Armin would have none of it and threw on Motorcycle :) |

Ok here's the pics. Just keep in mind my camera sometimes does weird things. So sometimes you will notice some weird things. Like just some weird things. But overall I think it's decent. :) And I have to admit sometimes I like the weird things it does. And, the first two pics are pics of the sky, it's nature putting on a lightshow of its own. None of these pictures are retouched in any way, shape or form. So you've been warned...... definitely some pics are on the "experimental" side...... also FYI I love club-lighting so you'll see that sometimes exaggerated in the pics... :D
Also you may see some crazy TA's in the pics..... esp one with a bandana. LOL. madman

Good reviews everybody and thanks for posting the pics from the night. That setlist is killer. It's tearing me up. I'm 0 for 3 for seeing Armin in Chicago. Something came up yesterday and I couldn't make it to Chicago. I did my best to help represent Detroit TAs, hopefully many others made it.
Thanks to Seneca and Kailya for organizing the meetup. Hopefully another meetup can be arranged for TAs that didn't make it this time when Armin hits town again. |

ahhh that is too bad to hear about your pics... there are others who have taken pics as well, we shall have to anxiously await those..... and there is CAW who will most definitely issue forth a killer set of pics.. so there is definitely hope. :D :D :D

Good day everyone! Just got back to Grand Rapids minutes ago, and HAD to get on TA right away!
Dinner started at 8pm. Ordred food around 8:30. Food arrived around 9:15. Seneca left around 9:30. Just to give you an idea of the time frame.
Thank you everyone who RSVP'd me back about the dinner as promptly as they did. Everything ran smooth from the beginning of dinner to the time I got home. Thank you all for being so patient!
I believe we ordered dinner at a great time. Armin showed up with Matt and David, at Connie's after dinner arrived at the table. I walked outside and there he was! He is and was charming! You could tell when he arrived that he was happy to be there. He sat down at various spots around the table chatting with everyone. Armin gave Seneca a couple vinyls to work with that night and after Seneca left, Armin shared the rest with everyone else. I honestly don't know the names of them, but I can tell you that I am VERY happy with the one I received. ;) ;) Before Armin left he autographed them and took pictures with everyone. It was awesome!
Slowly found our way to Vision from Connie's. Parking was great! Right around the corner and it was FREE! The bouncers did an awesome job :) First time at Vision for me, turned 21 back in June. Finally found the main room where Seneca was playing. Made my way up to the second level right behind the DJ booth where he was. I look forward to listening to Seneca's set, it kicked ass!
Here comes Armin from the locked VIP room. Armin, then David, then Adam carrying their drinks. Someone was carrying his vinyls, I just didn't catch who. I'm so glad I'm not a dj hoe. I can imagine how much those cases weigh! I honestly don't know what the track was that he opened with, but it was rockin!!!!
I feel so bad for anyone who was standing behind me when I was jumping up and down. I was wearing some thin high-heels and I am sure I stepped on a few peoples' toes! Songs I remember were, "It's not over yet", "Yet Another Day", "As the Rush Comes", "Insomnia", "Proceed", "Dirty Sticky Floors", "Clocks", I will list more as I remember them.
I believe that one of the reasons that makes Armin such a great DJ, is how hyped up he gets the crowd. He's jumping up and down, waving his arms in the air, raising them up, and on top of the booth! Everyone goes nuts when they see how excited he is! If you didn't make it to see Armin this time, make sure you attend the next show, you WON'T be disappointed! He plays the most bangin' tracks, and his mixing skills are superb!
I went out in the crowd for a little bit, just to get an idea of what it was like. Hot as Chef Jimmy's Batch 81, three pepper chili sauce. Hehe, If anyone of you eat at Quizno's, you KNOW what I'm talkin about!
I am so glad that I met: Matt (Spundae), Adam (lights), Chris (CAW), Bobby, Nick(ninja_k), Garfield, Rubin (delobbo), Sean, John (JFin), Stewart, Sam (Nut), Katie, Jessica, Amy, Michelle (brown curly hair), Michelle(medium length straight blonde hair), Mikey C, Corey, Priscilla, Cunin, Mike (mabi), Natalie, Alex, Tom (dj2kta), George (Solo), Jamie(Trancedancegirl), Sumit and Ryan. There was not one person that I met last night, who didn't have a good vibe. Everyone was so open and kind, you made the night what it was!
Who was the tall guy in the black shrit that Seneca introduced me to? I know there were a couple of AL guys that I met, I just can't remember names! I'm so sorry! Please let me know who you are, I would love to chat with you! If I forgot your name, I didn't on purpose! I am doing my best to remember everyone's names honestly! I love you all, thanks for coming.
Armin, David, You two are great, I'm sure from reading my post you can tell what I think. Pictures WILL be posted without a doubt and I will make sure you have a link to them. *mutters something about a threesome pic* ;) ;) I have something that I made for you (Armin). I will mail that out shortly.
Seneca, you did a GREAT job last night! I know that if your lady was there she would have been so excited and that we would have had a great time! Let her know that I can't wait to meet her and next time I'm in town we will have some fun!
Matt, thank you so much for picking up Armin and bringing him to the dinner. If it wouldn't have been for you, the dinner would not be as awesome as it was. Thanks for coming. It was great meeting you!

Rubin, I am happy that you made it to the dinner. Good thing I bought extra batteries for my camera and also brought an extra compact flash card. Thanks for sharing the pics you had taken. You and Chris take beautiful pictures.
Bobby, Nick, Ryan, Stewart.... I am so glad you guys made it to the dinner. Well, all except for Nick.... (don't get trashed! before the dinner next time!) Thank you Nick for sharing your place with me and mi amigos! I love cuddling if you guys couldn't tell ;) Thank you again for everything. I can't believe you guys were there before I was! You three and George. Rather be early than late!
George, I'm sorry I couldn't find someone to hook you up with a ride from O'hare to Connies. I still feel bad. But hey, I'm glad you made it!
Sam, I'm glad that you and I were able to chat before we met last night. Thank you for brining Katie with you. She's a doll! I look forward to hangin out with you again, and I'll see what I can do about CDs :)
