| About Ringing...I don't know a person who doesn't have it after a rave or some big event !!! I mean think about it...music is loud, your ears aren't used to it, so they piss u off just like you piss them off :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p |

| yea but the point is if they are ringing it means they have been damaged and ears do not fix themselves |

Wait, so you're saying headphones are bad for your ears?
If you don't turn up the music unreasonably high then I don't see how it could be bad... for instance look around, everyone listens to music in their headphones, everywhere! |

| headphones are definately worse than listening through lets say car speakers or comp. speakers. when you have headphones on the music is right next to your ear and none of the sound escapes, it goes right into your ear. when your listening through car speakers when the sound travels some of it gets lost and its not as bad for your ears. |

I think you're exaggerating. |

| No he's right dude, headphones are very bad for your ears, but it all depends on how loud you have the music, n most people havee it very loud, n then when your hearing adapts to that volume, you put it up somemore, n then they adapt, n you put it up a lil more n so on... Obviously music sounds so much better when it's loud, I actually rembember reading the exact reasons why somewhere once, but I don't remember what they were! lol! But I'd hate to go deaf, I'd rather go blind than deaf! |

Well, what do you mean "most people have them very loud"
When you listen to a CD on your portable CD player, wearing headphones, do you turn the volume up TO THE MAX??? I certainly don't!!
For example my CD player supports a max volume setting of 8.5, and I usually play it on the 4-4.5 level. |

When i used my cd player..i always had it at the max..10..and with bass boost..
but at home i have a stereo hooked up to my comp..and have headfones attached so when i play it..it getS LOUD...so ya i think my ear is damaged like mentioned b4..
and by the way..headfones are the worst... like some1 mentioned above.."sound cannot escape".. |

After Wintergalactic here in Toronto, I couldn't hear very well out of one ear for 2 or 3 days...
It might've been because I was standing right next to one of the speakers.. lol
But it passed anyway... and it was all worth it to see Tiesto spin :) |

Well obviously FOR YOU headphones are the worst.
No offense but only an idiot would listen to a CD player on the max 10 level with the bass boost.
For me, headphones are normal. In fact I get more tired when I listen to my 5-dolby-digital stereo-system at home for some time! |
