This is kinda off topic but are any of you guys getting a really bad ringing in your ears after listening to trance music (or any music) too loud. The only reason I bring this up is because I think it sounds so much better when I crank the volume up in my car but it has the nasty side effect of giving me ringing ears. I'm afraid it may also lead to permanent hearing damage and I'll never be able to enjoy my trance music again :((
Gosh, I wonder how the professional DJ's can handle such loud music for prolonged periods of time.. Maybe that's why we dont see any 40 year old DJ's.. They're all deaf by then!!! |

| I listen to my trance really loud too but I don't have any ringing...yet. It must be really hard to be a DJ and keep your hearing since the sound system is usually really loud and you have to blast music through the headphones too. |

Yep I know what you mean, and it's pretty dangerous too. I was coming home from work one day, and had the car stereo pumping pretty loud, and my ears were ringing for a few hours. Not only this in 95/96 on New Years I went to a rave, and they had a 30,000watt sound system and that was amazingly loud. Probably illegally loud in fact, and my ears rang for three days, and I thought I was going to have it forever, and I freaked out for a bit. Most of us in Perth agree it was the loudest rave ever...
Now Dr Paul says...The condition of ringing ears involves tiny little hairs which reverberate sound, and if the frequencies are too high or loud, they damage the hairs...In constant use, this will eventually cause Tinitis, which is the permanent ringing of the ears, and some people have been driven to suicide from it.
Food for thought 'eh? |

| That's why I spent so much on home & car audio equipment. It's truly worth it when you can FEEL music as well as hear :) |

if u had a job say at a shooting range or a power station where there is a constant loud noise, i think it mess`s up the liquid bit in your ear . thats why they wear earplugs underneath them other ear things :P
so listening to musik constantly like a lot of us could possibly cause us to deafen quicker at say the age of 40 :( |
