While tiesto at energy 99 is one of my all time favourite live sets, it is relatively cheesey to the absolute brilliant compilations that are magik 6, tranceport, and boundaries of imagination.

Thats my problem with the current styled trance, no 12-16 tracks will come out in a relatively close space of time that allow a dj to create an absolutely amazing compilation like the 3 mentioned above it. AVB's Transparence last year was pretty poor in my opinion. Tiesto's ISOS3 has absolutely nothing on 1 or even 2 and Ferry's World tour stuff is average.

Gouryella/Wahalla/Tenshi are better than Ligaya and Spaceman is awful awful cheese in my opinion. I think ferry has a lot to answer for lately.

ps. starting throwing the daggers cos I got a shield!!

lol - im everything but cheese mate - i love my classics no doubt but i can appreciate and love tracks that are not well known and less on the commercial side.

Not a good argument on ur case at all -- jeez hahaha Ligaya and Gouryella are just so different that you can call one cheese but not the other. Based on that argument ur defintion of cheese is anything that's not from 2003... erm wrong!

Ligaya is just as commercial, and so is spaceman now.

rethink my friend..

I dont think the trance of those years will be back. Im not saying everything released in 99-01 was amazing stuff either, there was plenty of . But the good stuff was absolutely classic. So much so it raised the bar for the quality of trance, and that bar hasnt been touched by anything released recently.

I think the reason that the majority of trance is starting to sound is because all artists seem to be sticking to the same repetitive formula that successfull tracks are based upon.

Newsflash: as soon as lead synths/melodies/ and percusion starts being copied and repeated like it has been over the last few years, the whole genre will loose it's individualism, and quiet frankly will turn into the next generation of "pop" culture  Who wants a bet that trance will make it mainstream with the growing inclusion and use of vocals??? -THROWS A $50 ON THE TABLE!-

oh. and to everyone that thinks that g&d are good prog acts, listen to Leama and Moor. They have some ammazing releases lately, and i'd hate to say it, but i'm starting to like the chilled back sound of this prog duo. namely

Andy Moor - No More [Kenny Shifter Mix]
Salt Tank - Eugina [Leama Mix]
Sonorous - Second Sun [Leama & Moor Mix]
Avril - I'm With You [Leama & Moor Mix] :stongue: what can i say, they have the same level of commercialism with this track as G&D had with remixing missy elliot :stongue: but hey, i love avril //marry me?
