Whats ur prediction? who wil be #1

i honestly think PvD is going to be #1 this time. He definitly deserves it more than the other artists. His new album definitly will help. good timing.

I dont see Tiesto staying at #1 but he will be firmly in the top 5.

Avb might move up a notch, he blew up even more. i see him being #1 in the next couple of years

Sasha or Digweed, while they are still superstars, i feel as if they didnt have a strong enough presence this year.

Danny Teneglia will probably end up the same

i see Oakie falling a bit

Danny Howells should move up a bit

What about everyone else? whats ur predictions?

If had to choose honestly

What I want...

1. Fleming

2. through 5 who cares ;)

What probaly will happen...

1. Armin
2. Pvd
3. Tiesto
4. ?

It's a popularity contest, the poll is cheap and really doesn't mean anything in my opinion.

It's gonna be close - but I predict that Armin, PvD and Tiesto - in that order. Armin's fans are fanatics and I think his energetic dj sets may get him the #1 spot this year.

A lot of ppl have complained that Tiesto has fallen off in the last year - that his mixing isn't as good and some ppl don't like his new "sound" with Traffic.

Who knows - we'll know soon enough!

Killing it at Arc a few times doesn't warrant you to bear the title of DJ of the year. Fleming hasn't done a tenth of what the other guys have done in terms of albums or productions on a global scale.
Tiesto went for quantity over quality this past year, so he is bound ot drop. Armin will be up there, but being the best looking doesn't get you the number one spot either. Maybe in a year or two. PVD has done the most this past year. With the DVD, the huge singles, his new mix cd coming out, and his massive touring schedule, he is gonna be the king.
Marco V had a pretty big year, I bet he'll move up a few places.

How about killing it in every county for the last 12 years ;)

The point is that Fleming isn't main stream. He doesn't play anthems or what all the other dj's play. He has his own sound and style. His tendency to stay away from the cheese / pop trance tracks will probably keep him out of #1 on the dj mag poll.

Agree 100%

This poll is more of a popularity contest - which isn't bad in and of itself. Ppl need to realize that it has nothing to do with technical ability - but rather, what the masses want to hear.

I think they should have different polls for the various genres - how do you compare a Lawler/Hawtin/Scumfrog/van Burren when they all have different styles???

zizack
Everyone knows that this poll is very much a popularity contest. 00 could be the best technical DJ in the world. But his harder progressive trance and psy trance stuff isn't gonna blow away the masses. When he comes to town, it isn't an event like when guys like PVD, Armin or Tiesto come around. Yeah, people get excited, but his style just isn't goign to appeal to anyone the way PVD's does. Pr Armin's or any of the really big guys.If you look at criteria for Mixmag's #1 dj poll, Fleming doesn't belong anywhere near the top. he isn't a standout DJ in the global scene like those other guys are.
