Show was absolutely great. And to be honest, I had reservations about going, because, as unpopular as this may be around here, I'm not a big fan of pvd's albums. Out there and back was a bit too lofty for my taste...Zurdo was just odd all the way around...and Reflections, while having several tracks that are just off the chain, was again lackluster as a whole in my humble opinion. I went to this show for one reason...the livesets of his I've heard over the years. All have been leaps-and-bounds better than his albums, and imo this show was no different.

I felt kinda Euphoric when he dropped Homage (Stone sober btw, had one 8oz whiskey coke for $5, /rude HOB) it was just amazing the mixing he was doing. As far as the technicalities of the mixing, I haven't a clue. I've never even attempted mixing tracks and prolly never will, my judge is my ear, and the judge was ringing for a few days :p The treble was definitely a few notches too loud, towards the end the breaks were nearly unbearable. In the end, I'll be seeing pvd whenever he is in driving distance. :)

Anyone know who the first DJ of the evening was? I enjoyed him as well, he seemed to play a bit harder trance than I usually like, but it was good stuff.

Aidonis..... the opening dj was dj dannyboy. he is a local chicago guy. he plays white star on saturday nights and plays the cheesiest of the cheese, though not by choice, he tells me. He has aim and his screen name is "Dj Dannyboy68" without the quotations.

Funny story about Dj Dannyboy. I was trying to find extra tix to the pvd show so i messaged him. We got to chatting about music and i sent him a track i told him i was certain pvd would drop. He liked the track so much he told me it was his favorite of the year and ended up playing it that night. That track was The Lost Brothers - Cry Little Sister (club mix). If anyone remembers, it seemed to get a pretty big response.

by the way, for those of you who were unaware, there is video available of the pvd set that can be downloaded here.
