An interconnected system of networks that connects computers around the world via the TCP/IP protocol.

thats the dictionary definition.

That includes things such as a Microsoft, IBM, dell, adobe, and a million other companies Intranets which happens to be external to the one you are using. just by paying for a subscription you DO NOT gain access to these internets. You are wrong. Give up.

That is what an INTRANET is .. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INTERNET AND INTRANET. You are full of it.

"A privately maintained computer network that can be accessed only by authorized persons, especially members or employees of the organization that owns it."

"Internet – the web site has no restrictions on who can see and use the material. It is available to the whole world. Some web sites available on the Internet may require registration to gain access to them, either to personalise the information being provided or to extract payment for using the site (the whole world can know of its existence, but there are conditions related to its use).

Intranet – a web site with restricted access based on an organisational group. Access to the web sites is controlled on an organisational basis using ‘behind the scenes’ user identification techniques, such as logging in to the network. The knowledge of the existence of the information is confined to the organisational group with access. Within DoE there are several Intranets including the DoE Intranet to which all DoE staff have access and business unit Intranets with access restricted to the members of individual business units (including schools). School Intranets are typically only available to the staff and students within the schools"

also unlike you im doing this from memory and not the world wide web.

the difference between an intranet and an internet is simply the protocols binding them. if you use tcp/ip to communicatite its internet. between networks is what the really means.

intra network is within a network and is ipx/spx netbeui althought not used much anymore and a number of non-microsoft protocols that adapt to mac and unix systems.

do you want more?
Vert
Read up. Very few networks use netbeui and ipx anymore. You are fighting a loosing battle, trying to take this in other directions. Its not about protocol, its about what it is and how it is used.

Thats how it is. You were wrong. Stop using lowball tactics to make it look like you were right. endgame. You said there were many internets, when infact there is only one. There is many intranets.
