For some reason, a lot of cd keys work with this serial:
5000-0000-0000-0001 |

creating a new hashing algorithm for the keys isn't hard, i'm pretty sure with the brains that valve has, they'll be able to do it in a couple of days...
the worst part i think, and no one seems to notice, is that technology was stolen, meaning competitors can make huge advancemnts in their own engines/games by looking at the code, and no company would want to buy an engine of a game that got leaked on the net (why pay for something that should be exclusive when there's other companies copying the ideas...)
The engine is worth more than the game itself. |

Haha. Someone in my HL clan put the source code file on our clan's webserver, for the clan to look at. He took it down shortly after. About an hour later, someone claiming to work for a security company working for valve came into our irc channel and threatened legal action. The file had already been gone for a while tho so he didnt do much about it. :stongue:
I guess valve has file sniffers looking around for it much like the RIAA looks for mp3s. |

Someone (partially) compiled the code. Notice the cstrike directory, and tf2.exe. It looks like Team Fortress 2 and a new counter strike might be available upon release. Of course since this is apparantly straight from valve's developing machines, it could just be there for testing and such. But you never know :D

"Well, I've been looking through the source, and since its in C++ (which I can kind of read...) I've been found out some new info about HL2.
I'll post a more detailed report later, I got to head to class.
- Counter-Strike will be released with HL2 at launch. There are no new weapons so far. The other difference is an 'assault suit' which is just kevlar and a helmet.
- There are a lot of HL1 references, like folders are files. Not sure what this means.
- TF2: Here are some classes: Chooser, Commando, Defender, Escort, Infiltrator, Medic, Pyro, Recon, Snapper, Sniper, Support.
- Some words found in TF2 source, what the mean is in question: Burst rifle, Charged Plasma, Laser Rifle, Base Shield, Plasma Grenade Launcher, Combat Shield, Drain Beam, Flamethrower, Gas Can, Grenade Rocket, Limpet Mine, Mortar, Harpoon.
There are a ton more, including vehicles, weapons, etc. But I have to run off to school. More info soon. =)"

If TF2 comes out with HL2, i'm in heaven. I wish they'd release a screenshot or two. TF2 was the most anticipated game a couple years back, and holding it a secret is probably frustrating the already frusrated Half Life community.
Maybe the CS folder is for the current version, only with upgraded graphics?
Is CS2 in production? I thought it was just a rumour that just hopped along witht the sudden anouncement of HL2's production
edit: well, continuing to find new info
there are awards given to the more outstanding players.
the CS folder is pretty much the QuakeTF to Half life TF (same project under a new engine), transfer. updated graphics, rag doll physics, a new armor suit. |

werd i was soooo shocked when i read his pc was conected to the internet i thought valve would have had a set of pc;s not conected to the net for coding etc
also this will suck as there will be sooo many cheats out there which wil ruin online play when it roles out |
