playable beta? i thought there was no graphic files.
and even if people input their own graphics, the most i'm expecting is a 10,000 polygon chess board or a ragdoll hit detection for tetris |

Yup theres supposed to be a real leaked beta out there (not like that 1 week old one that contained gay porn as people say :D)

as everyone has already mentioned, this sucks. I finally got some confirmation that there is a playable beta contructed from the source code. They were also able to gather graphics and maps to create this HL2 build.
I'd just urge everyone to cooperate with Valve and not go around looking for the beta. It's going to be an amazing game when its out, don't spoil the fun and don't let it be spoiled for others. |

| This is most unfortunate. However, like others have already said, I think Gabe is one of the biggest dumbasses in the whole world to have such things available on a computer that is connected to the internet. If I was working on something for 5 years and it was soon going to be released, I would be 50 feet under the ground, have a 24 hour security force, and of all things, not a damn internet connection in site. How could you even risk that? I guess he put his faith in spyware removers, patches, and virus protection and look what it got him. I can't imagine what he feels like. |
