BKs set was awesome :)

I'm not a hardcore track lister (ok, i hardly ever know the names!), but when i hear a song mixed in, i know exacly how its gonna go!

Anyway back to the BK set - it was just what you wanted - hard, fast and pumping. VinylGroover was awesome too, and without a doubt the Nukluez room was the best.

I wish cosmic gate had of been on earlier, because at about 5.30 i was starting to get tired (weak, i know!) so i didnt enjoy it to its fullest...

See you all at TOGETHER @ NYE!

Add
DJ Tiesto - Traffic
The Gift - The Seventh Day
OMMMMFFFGGGG :eyes: to that list.

I couldn't ID a lot of M.I.K.E.'s tracks, but he had a great groove going on, that dirty dark techy uplifting sound of his -- just wicked. Seventh Day almost broke my brain :D.

Bailed on Marco V completely, and went and checked out James Holden. He proceeded to rip out the best prog set I've ever seen in my life. It had funk, groove, house, electro, female vocals, male vocals and genuine trance in there. He had me spellbound from go to whoa... just unbelievable. His set was undoubtedly the highlight of my night :).

(I'm terrible at prog-spotting... only tracks I picked were JFOS feat Claire - Do What You Want [Infusion Mix] and James Holden - Nothing [Original Mix] :p)

From there the posse headed on down to see Cosmic Gate, and walked in on (I think) Basic Dawn - Pure Thrust. They had the place going off, but it wasn't really my style... not enough happening in the bassline for my liking :) Good fun though.

And of course, there was Mr Strangis earlier on in the night. Very nice work for his big-room debut, and while the crowd was sparse early on, it built nicely for the end of his set. Top stuff, Steve!

All in all, a ripper night of trance from go to whoa. Two thumbs up :D

Glad that everyone had a fun night :)

did anyone else notice how the volumne was turned down for a period of time when mike was playin? that really put a dampener on the party at that time.... remember hearing turn the lights off on mute ... heard from someone else that the EPA came and complained about the noise. Good to see when i came back later that the volumne was back up though.

the night was a mix for me. really enjoyed saunderson and holden and of course our very own steve. marco v performed as expected but was not spectacular in my opinion. cosmic gate didn't really do it for me ... found their set to be repetitive cheese.
waXology
anyone got a listing of what marco v played?

Did anyone see Saunderson?

Yeah, Holden was bloody gold. Exactly the right mix of melody and toughness. Don't remember hearing Nothing (but I missed the first and last 15 minutes) but the other tracks I can remember spotting were Outhouse, You Are Sleeping (Chable Mix), Break in the Clouds and Kaern Turned plus a few from his Balance compilation. There were a few other familiar ones (am I tripping or did he play Murk - Alright? :conf: ) that'll probably come back to me though.

As for everyone else, I enjoyed MIKE. His mixing was a bit dodgy (particularly at the start) and the sound at the back of the dancefloor was ed like someone said, but still some pretty nice tunes. Tracklisting please? ;)

Saw about 20 minutes of BK, which was enough tbh. Way too hard, and I kinda got the impression that I was the only one in the room not drugged up to the eyeballs...... but maybe that's where I was going wrong.

Saw a bit of Kevin Saunderson (spent a bit of time going back and forth between him and Holden) and he sounded pretty damn good. Played the Mike Monday mix of C&S - Who Is It? while I was in there, so he obviously plays with a pretty funky edge. If Holden wasn't playing at the same time I would've liked to have seen more of him. :-/

Saw the first 15 minutes of Cosmic Gate (as well as the Firewire encore that felt like it lasted for about 37 minutes) but not my style really. Ended up grooving to Kasey with a small but committed bunch of prog-heads for the last hour and a half instead. Definately Australia's number one DJ who still managed to rock it even though the room was half empty by this stage.

A bit pissed off that we missed Steve Strangis (we didn't get there till like 12 :-/) but can't do much about it now I guess. Good night all in all though.
