All I know is that you should get a new Mac.

Get a Powermac.

My parents have a gateway which is a mess, so I would not ever buy from them again.

how much????

Well, I made a mistake before. The BASE SYSTEM costs 3000-8000 USD. All of the goodies that they are advertising like the PuRam, DDR, LCD on unit, DVD burner, etc. have to be added on as customisation. The PuRam alone costs 4999 USD. The system that they are describing on the site actually costs well over 10'000 USD. You have to click "Buy", then customise the system by adding practically everything to the bare system, selecting from a very long list of components, bringing teh price up a whole lot. I'd really love to know if anyone actually has bought and received their system or anything from them. I want to know if this company is a scam or not. I wouldn't mind putting 10'000 USD out on something like they describe if it's going to last a good deal of time and really is ahead of its time.

i got:

asus a7n8x deluxe
1.5g crucial micron ddr ram
barton 2500+
SB audigy 2 zs platinum
x dream custom case with hyperwhite light.

anyway what im trying to say is that i built it myself for the first time ever before christmas.

anyway the result was a wonderful gangster looking pc with 6 fans and completely problem free. no problems for 3 months + already.

spent 1300 with tax for just the case and components.

What can I get for 1200 if I build my own PC?? ( Including drives/programs etc etc ).. I think that when it comes to programs and drives and monitors.. u end up winning by buying the pacakge all together.. I want that Windows Media Center.. looks great.
