To me it sounds just like any one of your generic type pads at a relatively high octave with a moderately high attack on it, short release and some echo. What program do you mainly use? I know that would be cake to do in something like Absynth or Atmosphere. |
I have about every VST that's out there! No, I'm just kidding. Absynth is ok, I also use Reason, z3ta and the rest of NI stuff. |

Regardless of whether or not Reason allows you to, I still see no reason why you'd want to do be doing reversed cymbal crashes in Real Time. |
Benefits or disadvantage by doing this in real time wasnt the issue here. I could go on about benefits of using drumkits within the NN-XT, and the almost non-existent resource a real time reversed snare would use. But what struck me, was your ability to answer this guy, when you do not know anything about the question he asked.
Cheers. |

| I think you're confusing me with the guy who said it couldn't be done in Reason. I have never even seen Reason used, let aloned used it myself, so I feel no need to be spouting anything Reason-related off. I think my tip about external processing was as non-specific as you can possibly get, and would equally apply to anyone using Buzz, Fruity, Reason or anything else. There's no need to be defensive. |

Sorry. It was "thecYrus" i should have quoted.
And yes, i'll be defensive against ignorance anytime ;)

Gamemaster 2003 synth is EASILY recreated with the Spectrasonics Atmosphere.
Take the Synth Bass -> Super Moog Bass preset, and bring Bank A (Hi Moog 3OSC Wide) down an octave. Tweak the cutoffs a little bit and you get the EXACT sound. |

| the Spectrasonics Atmosphere, is it VST or something like that to use in Fruity Loops? Is it free or something that needs lots of money...:eyes: |

How the heck are you not able to find out this by yourself ?
IMHO you dont not need it either, if you dont know this.

As a general tip, don't do your kicks, percs, whooshes and other similar effects in real time; process them externally as much as you can and import them as samples. |
care to explain why you think this is the best thing to do? |

I guess it's a matter of taste more than anything, but especially for my kicks I like to get them sounding the way I want them to sound before throwing them into the mix. For whooshes and other effects I usually process them externally until I get the sound I'm after, and then throw them through some extra delay in the mix to let them sit a bit better.
To all the pepole who I've promised tutorials for, I promise I'll get them done after exams. I really need to pass my courses this semester =P |
