jon's tune suit playing before armin IMO but i wouldnt say armin van junior.
he's better than armin anyway.

both JonO and Armin can beatmatch
dont blame them |
okay, ive realised
that a clarification is needed
not only because that was to be taken as a compliment, seeing that Armin is my second favorite dj; nor becuase i was defending JonO, who is also up there
but also because i wouldnt go and claim to be better than either or any of the two. or anyone, for that matter
[i'd say i dont have a superiority complex to carry you along my back]
and vagueness, it doesnt really work for me at times.
if i said they could both 'beatmix', then you could take that as offensive to them and to anyone who might defend them.
but JonO and Armin both beatmatch perfectly,
and the topic states that JonO tries to imitate armin; 'van junior'
i say, dont blame him of imitating solely becuase he beatmatches perfectly, much like armin.
i say, his mixing is perfect, and he may have been influenced, but he's not van junior.
and, true, ive only heard him on TAW, like most of us.
but even back in the day, when he would spin live,
if he trainwrecked and/or could not beatmatch,
would you accuse him of imitating tiesto?
either way, there is much more to be debated,
but that was my vague point to be made up there. |

Not according to who he voted for @ the DJ Mag poll. |

Even if such a comparison is true, why would it be a bad thing. Armin is the man, there should be more of him to pass around. |
agreed. If more DJs spun like Armin there would be more awesome DJs in the world ;)
Jon is a great DJ... signed at what, 20 years old to a major european label? When you do better THEN criticize |

G'zus christ at the cluelessness in this thread. How many of you have actually seen him live? I take it all these comparisons to Armin Van Buuren are a result of you downloading his sets of his TranceAirwave shows. Well let me be the first to point out that a live set in a club is a little different to a set to pre-recorded set to be aired on a radio show.
Now how many of you have actually seen him live and can still come back and say this crap? Usually he gets the warmup spot so of course is going to start proggy and slow. So now to be more to the point, how many of you have seen him do a live set at peak time slot? Because I have and it was an amazing set, far far better than I have seen from Armin this year. I would gladly go see Jon O Bir; I can't say the same for Armin Van Buuren these days. |
Hell yes, well put. Anyone who gets some fame and recognition is gonna get criticized... it's a natural sign that youre doing things right :) :) go Jon :D
As far as Armin's sets go, i prefer his ASOT to his live cclub performances these days as well... but i think that's coz he spends so much time producing, not enough time polishing his skills. Track selection is always great though! |
