| This thread is fascinating... I never realized that so many are involved with the abstract noise artform. It is indeed far from "pleasant" music, but yet admirable for being so eccentric. I think those quotes of Douglas Kahn about using noise to clear the mind is an intriguing idea, I'd love to read his book. |

if posssible, try to get a hold of this book by douglas kahn. his research is on how, why, and when noise came to be part of aural art as a form of avant-garde expression. the book is very well written and has a tremendous amount of material inside (it's over 400 pages long) that should give u a good insight on what art of noise is all about. read it! |
No thanks. If i have to be saturated with, and told by a book why i have to like something, then funk it.
Just wondered whatyou think.
PS : This post, by me, is art ;) |

I dont think Acid Junkie was suggesting that the book would neccesarily tell you why to like the noise, more that it might give you insight into why other people might be attracted it.
I like this thread, it's interestingly different. Personally I don't understand the noise, but then again I've only listened to the La Vie C'est Diabolique track :D |

I want to know what that track samples.
I went looking on Komprex's website and couldn't find it. I might add that the attitude and elitism on his website borders on parody. |

rofl. nowhere in my post did i say that u should read it to understand why u have to like the noise. reading it could help u comprehend why *other* people find noise enjoyable and, in some cases, healing. yes, noise can be curative, which u would learn if u read the book. but u seem to be too dense to even begin to realize that there's more to noise than just random knob twiddling. u are probably one of those people who choose to ridicule anything that is not in conformity with their perception of art, just for the sake of it. were u to visit an abstract-art gallery, u would probably be laughing your ass off, thinking "omfg, how in ghey is this?" that is some trivial, one-dimensional thinking u've got there. |

Sorry for the generalisation mate, I understand the difference now.

How big exactly is the interest in noise? I mean does it have a relaetively big following or not? Just curious... |

I think it's artistic in the way abstract art is. |
holy .
omg.
that was scary. |

| Yea, that track is menacing, but the fact that noise here is turned into art is very fascinating, since noise is usually a negative term. |

FFS. How do you know im not more openminded than you, just because i dont like this ? Juging from what you write and what you say you like, id say im way broader in what i like and appreciate.
You've said along this thread that everyone not liking this are ghay og wankers. Thats really openminded.
Your arguments and thinking reveals your teen-mind, and just proves my previous posts. You have also, once again, failed to explain the effort, the art and appreciation.
