Why do you septic tanks call your national baseball league the 'world series', and call the winners the 'world champions'? :p
Then again, I could be very wrong, because no one plays or watches baseball down here. |

I'm not a big baseball fan but...simple. The second largest leauge in the world is the Japanese league. We've played some exhibition games against various Japanese teams, however when the thought of games to be played between both champions came up, it was very quickly tossed out....why? Simple, the best Japanese players are coming to the US to play baseball....add that up with the best players from the whole world (US, Cuba, Dom Rep, Latin/South America, Canada...etc)...they all play in the US. Thus in actuality...it is a "World Series" and they are "World Champions"
Now with that said, we call all our Sports Leagues World Champions after they win...basketball, american football...etc. But in most aspects it's probably true...money talks...and the best players in the World play for money. Take soccer for instance, the best players (including the few americans) go to where the money is and that's NOT the US. And where the money is...is where generally the overall best teams are. |

Ok Japan and Usa has baseball league , that doesnt inclued the whole wide world
Where is the Sweedish , Norway, Finnish, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Dutch,Hungarian, Slovakian, Polish,Australian, New Zelandian,Belgian,Austrian, Danish,Russain, African players? Do they even has professional baseball?
I would understand if you guys would have a World series with teams from every other countries, but still, only American teams are in the World Series.
If there would be a game between, example Florida Marlins vs Tokyo Something , Amsterdam vs London, Budapest vs Prague, Stockholm vs Moscow, Berlin vs Brussel , and Florida would win the whole competition, you could say they are World Champions
Its like , have a Football(soccer) World Cup , and every team would be from Brazil. That would make them World Champions? |

That would actually be great. Though I am not complaining about the current format of the World Series, but whenever the world will pick up on baseball, it will be great if Americans will share the World Series battle with other nations ... the best of the best. Cause just because baseball will be introduced into summer olympics soon doesnt mean there shouldn't be a worldwide interest in this great sport. American domination has kept baseball widely unknown around the world, and thats the problem. |

| CHeers for the answer, i'm just curious due to the fact that no one plays baseball down here, it's all rugby, afl and cricket :wtf: |

AFL rocks....I wish they'd play it here
I also am big into rugby, and it's a slowly growing sport here...but will never be big.
And cricket is still a jumping insect in the USA.
Just to point out the Aspects of money...one of your better AFL players (at least one that had a big foot) is now a kicker in the NFL (football). He simply makes more money (lots more) and didn't have to get trampled on since he is the kicker. Don't remember his name but he was playing for San Diego, last I checked.
Sports is all about the $...a good player will go to where that $ is. |

whoa afl rocks? big call man
only people who used to like it here were victorians, south australians and west australians, who dont really count cause nsw owns them all:happy2:
im of the opinion that the US could be a force in rugby because of the massive player base that could be tapped (if it ever got popular) and you guys produe some big boys...pity they aint fit and just become blockers that play tit bash with the dude in front of em :haha:
in response to PhloTron, the best players in the world are lured to spain, italy and england, but just because they win their national leagues doesnt make them automatic world champions
plain and simple: americans just sit on a very high horse |
