his track selection was cheese. Everyone went knowing it was going to be cheese, so it was cool, bit it was defo cheese.

RE the track selection/crowd control Joy Kitikonti- Joyenergizer, and the 3-5 tracks around that where he BANGED it out, I wouldn't of called that good track selection or crowd control. Everyone I spoke to (all the TA's), said that he was lacking after the 1st hour, when he started banging it out. He lost the crowd. He got them back when he slowed it down again, for sure, but the fact he lost them in most of the TA/halcyon regular's eyes, makes it hard to say it was perfect (considering we are pretty up to speed with trance).

PS biased Matt Darey...GOD??? :p

Oh well he can't please them all...BUT calling Matt Darey cheese is just depressing and nonsense :whip:, he is far from it.

If Matt Darey is cheese, please bring more.

i would consider him FAR from the likes of Armin, Ferry & Tiesto.

His mixing was tight, but his track selection was nothing special at all.

Anyone can get up there and bang out 2 hours of trance classics from 99 especially on CD!

Seeing guys like Armin is totally different, the present to us a heap of new tracks and take us on a journey starting with say proggy stuff and working his way through. Darey just played straight uplifting for 2.5hours and well he kinda lost me for a bit because i got bored. I prefer a dj to play a range of styles and present a journey set.

Im kinda over hearing all those old classics so i did get bored at stages, especially when he played a bit hard in the middle there.

I mean you cant honestly say that one of us djs odd TA here couldnt have played the exact same set, it was nothing special at all!

As i said to some others, it was a great set cause it was MATT DAREY, only he could really get away with that. If i played like that i would get bagged out!

anyways, thats my thoughts.

How can you say that he played straight uplifting 4 2.5 hours, then say the played harder in the middle. He progressed to hardER trance and back again. That was his journey and range of style :)

That said, i know TOTALLY what you mean and agree with you.

you know what i mean! thats like saying he took us on a journey by playing 3 prog songs in the middle.

The set didnt build, it just stayed the same with a few bangin ty old hard trance tracks in the middle.
