I'm gonna be in Spain for 7 months so ill be going 2 or 3 times... but not when your going... I think ill try to make it for that first Space@Amnesia night. Maybe ill start to like Tiesto again after a night like that. Though I see myself spending more time at DC10 and stuff like that... Privilege as well...

I'd go... but no one wants to hang out with an 18 year old that doesn't drink, smoke, or do drugs. :o

Like Desidel said it's REALLY cool that you guys are organizing this. Hopefully somehow we can all meetup somewhere in Europe. Just have to work out all the logistics of it...;)

It's indeed a great idea. Issue at hand is : We don't have any dates YET! It's 9 months away ... and things like that aren't exactly out in the open this early.

Now as far as a meetup "somewhere" in europe do you have any specific ideas?

(sorry if this has been posted already)

Here are the lineups for August that I came across:
http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/nigh...es_august_i.htm

Anyone up for the 40-hour clubbing challenge? Saturday night (I'd recommend Def Mix @ Pacha, but go wherever u want) from midnight to 8 am, followed by 22 hours at Space, followed by DC-10, which will probably go til some time Monday evening (then you can rest a little before Manumission or Cocoon, or go to Bora Bora for more dancing) :tongue2

Anyhow, definitely leave Sunday/Monday open for Space (22 hours, from Sun 8 am to Mon 6 am ! ), followed by DC-10
Actually, also on Sundays, the Tunnel Trance Force event at Privilege, and Judgement Sundays @ Eden, might be of interest as well

And hit these spots at some point:
1. San Antonio for the sunset party, at either Cafe del Mar or Cafe Mambo
2. Bora Bora - beach-side dancing from afternoon to midnight every day, and for free! (it's really cool when the planes fly overhead too)
3. nude beach at Ses Salines :D

I've heard that the foam party at Amnesia is crazier on Wednesdays than it is on Sundays

that would be a good idea, and also any other TA's have made this trek out before? Maybe past visitors might know a better route/plan.

Okay guys, Michi is right, we will open a new thread when we have DETAILS. For now, the purpose of this thread was for brainstorming. Also, it's good to see who is interested.

Let's be realistic: it DOES suck to now know the DJ list and, with most villas, occupancy must be Sunday to Sunday (or Sat-Sat). That means we have to choose a specific week, preferably the third or fourth week in August. It's possible to rent the villa for two weeks but that's just way too much organiztion and this is not a high school field trip.

things to think about:

*Assume this trip is going to cost you $3000. It could easily be less, but always round up.

*You must have a passport.

*The remainder of the payment for the villa (the LARGE payment) is not due until the end of July. Will you have this money?

If it's too difficult for us to get a villa now, we can still get our group together, take the time to look into places and decide the best date. It's ok if it takes a few weeks. Between Dani, Indy, Michi and I, we can get this trip off the ground.

PS: Talk to your friends who have been to Ibiza. Talk to Ian, Arnold/Choobak, Michi/Shellsh0ck, Andreas/Overseas, Dan/Wallflower; whoever you know. Learn from them.

:)

I will save $3000 for this trip. Thats including AirFare and accomidations.

I do have a passport...

And my money will be ready for the villa at the ending of July.

=)

Do Sat-Sat (that means leaving US on Fri late afternoon or early evening) if possible

If you want PVD, do Aug 2-9 or Aug 16-23
If you want Labor Day as an extra day to recover, do Aug 23-30

Right

Those are great points

Personally Ibiza is the only Balearic i'm yet to do, I love Menorca & Mallorca, and I'm in love with the canaries, esp fuerteventura, but Ibiza is the one to do.

You have to realise it's not all the hype it's made upto be, there is crime etc and you will have to be vigilant, it's sad as in Menorca you felt perfectly safe, but here ur not, so basic city living rules apply, don't leave things unattended etc, and be prepared. Some basic Spanish helps, I don't know very much at all, but I see to get along ok.

Roads aren't always in the best of condition esp country lanes, and Mopeds are a no-no simply cos they're not always in roadworthy condition, so if you are going to rent one, be very careful checking it out first

Shopping can be expensive in resorts, but there are usually local markets and local stores which would offer best value. Salads are amazingly cheap & in plentiful supply and I pretty much live on them, in Lanzarote this last august I didnt eat a single round of bread, only the odd burger in bun!

Clubs are uber-expensive, and drinks especially are extorionate, easily upto 8-10€ EACH!!! You have to realise also that I'm not sure the taps will be on to refill water AND water isn't drinkable as a rule, bottled is the best bet, but it's cheap anyway!

I'm a member on a holiday community with ex-pats living in ibiza so i'm going to ask them for some more information which i'll pass on asap, esp regarding the non-europeans etc

Passports always have to be valid for 6 months after the end

There is also the Balearics tax, I'm not sure if this comes into play in Villas though, so i'll ask away, but it's from 50 cents to €2 a day for the stay, this goes straight to the government who're conserving the areas using the money and imo it's a worthy tax as you do see the effects of it.

Also other groups, It's sad to say that other groups of British & Europeans treat these places like , they'll piss/crap anywhere, abuse locals, and it's not nice, it saddens me to see it, as if you just put a bit in for them, they totally appreciate it & are the nicest ppl you'll ever meet.

I'll add anything else as i think of it :)

erin, is this thread bothering you?? yes, we're daydreaming while we're also doing the preliminary planning.. but we're keeping it to This thread and that's all.. so are you In or are you Out? cuz if you're not interested in the trip then why are you giving us hints that we should stop posting in this thread? and why are you worrying about who's gonna be in the 2004 lineup in ibiza??

we'll open a new thread when we know what dates we're going and when airfare is available (right now a lot of airlines don't have their summer schedule up and tickets go on sale around february)

Yanik: i don't drink or smoke or do drugs :) (i'm 21 btw) :)

Indy: whatever Vlad is doing is fine- there is no "authority" to this anyway. he can be in charge of the lists...i'll look for airfare (starting in january, there's nothing now) and michi is looking for villas..

oh yea, ps.. i would drive but i'm only 21 for one, and i don't think michi or bri would let me drive :haha: i put the pedal to the metal all the time :haha:
