I used that cat in a presentation today.
Anyways, this is how I use the edit/delete button.
I only edit my posts if I made mistakes or if I happen to post at the same time as someone in an arguement I can go back and take their opinion into consideration. Usually I just post another post.
I have been editing the birthday thread and that was a pain in the butt. Anyone that starts roll calls or anything are amazing people.
Deleting? Who the hell deletes posts. That is the lowest of the low and I mean people notice when you do it so why even do it. I think the point that Emery is trying to make with his list is that it doesn't happen often because we are all normal enough to leave our posts alone.
I'm confident in what I write and would never take it back by deleting it. Who the hell does that?
The point with the cat you are trying to make is valid but normal people wouldn't do that.
A good suggestion is that once a thread has replies in it it should not be allowed to be deleted and for the longest time that's what I thought the rule was so if I but accident made two threads I was able to delete it. |

my opinion: there must be away to allow certain ppl who do not abuse their edit/delete pirvlages to keep em.
downfall: constant moderating.
solution to downfall: simple! it is pretty apparent that there are a few ppl that do so abuse that privlage. So the actions speak for themselves. Such ppl should be warned first and if they continue to do so, simply the mod will not allow then to edit or delete posts.
i think the privlege idea is great cuz it teaches ppl not to say whatever the hell that came to mind but rather think before they talk.
another downfall but with no solution: if such system is implemented on TA, it might create some havoc such as eleetness levels. One might brag and say "HAHAHAHA i'm more 3l337 than j0o... gotz PWNED by m0d3rat0r I7ika.. mwahahahahaha all ur bazzes bel0ngz to uz.. ha ha ha" |
