Please PM if you win so I can update the first post - it's getting hard to sought out what's happening. I haven't got any ideas to make it clearer for those watching. I like how aloep is using green text - makes his match easy to find.
Round 2 has started for those who won in round 1. Maybe you guys think you're good or something huh?; in Round 2 you can prove it :).

i just named a bunch of tunes that i love above...I'd like to think that i'm open to a lot of different types of music with an emphasis on good stuff. as long as its got a nice melody, a solid beat, and atmosphere i'll probably love it.

Very smooth atmospherics, really soothing on the ears. I would give this a thumbs up, but it misses something vital in order to make it go all the way. This just has a very smooth soundscape and that's it, and there has to be more to it for me to give it thumbs up.

well, it was slighty half decent until the breakdown came. then the vocal sample and the awful main lead turns it into an horrible cheese fest :\ sorry dude, but this is way way far from my kind of music

a lot more like it.. the dark feel of it is very good, also is the psy bassline. i didn't like much the mission-impossible-ish guitar, and the worst thing are the racing samples, even if they're not present a lot. very close to a thumbs up.
well, now, sorry dude, but whatever song you recommend i won't be able to hear it until saturday.. i only have internet connection at home at the weekends, during the week in the university they don't allow peer-to-peer programs :\ |

I don't see why not. You could probably ride the same song all the way to the finals I guess.
I'm starting to think the best way to run this is to not try and get exactly 16 people so you can have a nice neat competition. I'm thinking it's better to just leave it open, allowing anyone to post their top20 and get started with the next guy who posts their top20, then you wouldn't have to wait around for me; it would also give people thinking about joining a chance to preview top20 lists before committing, and it would probably work out neater in the thread with each duel on the same page. If you got an odd number of participants you could always use count backs of results to sought out who advances. |

My tastes are mainstream mainly. Gotta have melody. I also like uplifting, buildups, epic synths, and, you might have noticed from my list, I don't mind sexy female vocals. I don't particularly like heavy thumping beats, although I have been known to listen to techno if it's got some melody (eg. Moguai - Get On (original mix) or Benni Benassi). I like Markus Schulz, AvB and Ferry Corsten. I don't know what else to say. I know one thing though, I can pretty much instantly tell if a song is a 1, 2, or 3 for me.
