I like all styles really. I prefer dark/sad stuff in trance, i like progressive with or without melodies, i like techno, funky or hard. Not a fan of vocal trance usually, and not a big fan of hardtrance |

Rythm: Very important for me. Not just 4/4 duh duh duh duh type stuff unless it sounds cool. That's why I mainly listen to prog and breaks nowadays.
Melody: I still have a soft spot for those epic classic melodies. I generally don't like it to be too fluffy. Haunting type melodies I usually like. I also like that "techy" type sound (like Activity).
Vocals: I don't normally like these especially if the lyrics are retarded, but if done right, they can be my reason for liking the song.

Thinking about this: it's all based on your top20 list; so if you want to put techno type songs in your list this may handicap someone who's here to find trance and knows little about other electronica, which would make it hard for them to find you a song you liked.
Just trance for now. Keep it simple. I'm not gonna be strict or anything though.

After having started a match, and immediately sent a house tune, I've realised that restricting it to just trance is not really necessary. Everyone here wants trance because we're in a trance forum, so if you send them house, techno or something else it's a risk. But there's also a chance they may like it in which case you've openned their eyes to a whole new type of music. All good.
Too tedious to enforce anyway, and sometimes what's trance and what isn't is a grey area.
I draw the line a Britney Spears or the Hootin' Annies however.
