"cheese"

Hi.
Can someone please give me a clear definition (or an example) of the term 'cheese' when used to bash certain trance songs. Not by saying 'oh just music with bad lyrics' i want an precise definition as i think the term gets thrown around too eagerly by certain trance addicts (reading someones response to an ATRC thread saying it was 'pure cheese'!:whip: ) because it ain't to their taste, so they call it 'cheese' which i think is dumb.
Anyway if u know what i mean tell me what u think.
neoh
you are cheese.

Tracks overloaded with unmemorable synths = cheese.

Tracks with vocals that do not contribute to the composition = cheese.

Anybody else?

In short, "cheese" is a term used to describe tracks which are most usually simple, unoriginal and with an overall shallow feel to them. It's only a matter of personal opinion what's cheese and what's not, and it doesn't always nessecerely make it bad.

In my opinion, songs which only goal is gain popoularity and sell, they may use "unmemorable synths" and "vocals that do not contribute to the composition". Anyway, it's quite easy to identify this songs, since you can tell that the ability and talent involved in the composition of such tracks is that one of a kindergarden kid or someone like Dj Otzi...

:haha:

If a track sucks, then it sucks.
If a track sucks and the producer knows it, it's "experimental."
If a track sucks but the producer thinks that its good, its cheese.
