Capturing him does little more than give a morale booster for the troops over there. It really means nothing...
Don't get me wrong I'm glad he's captured and everything. Its just not that big of a deal. The only thing we'll accomplish through capturing any of these guys is martyrdom.
Like someone said earlier this isn't going to resolve any of the violence and disorder thats going on there right now. Its not going to keep anyones troops there from being killed by any of the "freedom fighters". There are plenty of others just like him and that served under him that will eventually come in to power there or elsewhere. |
I agree. There is still a lot to be done. Great news that Sadam was captured, but he was not the only danger. There is a lot more. I hope the troops and the Intelligence don't get sidetracked to the point where they don't realize other dangers are right in front of their faces. |

To show I'm not alone in my thoughts:
Polish Defence Minister Jersey Szmajdzinski
The coming days could be equally dangerous as these past days. |

I don't know what flag you're referring to (the picture is just of a US soldier), but if you're talking about the footage of joyous Iraqis dancing in the streets waving those red flags - they were actually members of the Iraqi Communist party, and they were well aware that the cameras were watching them.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald's reporter in Baghdad, they were just putting it on for the news cameras. Apparently everyone else was inside watching television.... |

| It's kind of odd that the coallition forces have managed to capture a mad man living in holes and moving location several times a day, yet they cannot find WMDs which occupy a lot more space, cannot move by themselves, and which they knew exactly where was prior to the war. |

LoL goood point.
- I have mixed reactions to this capture, all because of my stand for war and all the other things related. On one hand, yes it is good that Saddam was captured, but on the other hand.. as stated from the beginning, is Saddam at fault for the events that happened to the US, and therefore will he get the blame?!?!.. does this news heal the 9/11 attacks and threats from terrorists to the US?!?!.. All the things related to the Iraq attacks are to be seen. Will it be easier for the US now in Iraq?!?.. how does it help heaving Saddam arrested?!?!.. will he's follower rebell in an even stronger way?!?. - Now. As you said, where the funk are the WMD?!?.. Will Saddam say where or prove it?!?! or will he be forced to prove it?!?!.. CIA are some very coward bastards when they feel like it. They'd probably do anything, now plant the weapons, and say that Saddam told them that it was there. Everything is relevant from now on.
- I will really be happy with the capture of Osama Bin Ladin and his clan, that will make my day, but Saddam.. as of now he's no figure for the events that made the US go after terrorists around the world.. 9/11 was not what made US go make Iraqui Freedom mission.. I still have to see what good will come from he's capture. |
