that's from when Rumsfeld was in ol' Reagan's cabinet. Of course the Americans were supporting Saddam at the time against the Iranian islamic uprising and the installation of the Ayatollah and the consequent Iran-Iraq war. surprise, surprise...all of the mustard gas used in that war was given to Saddam by the Americans...sorta like how the Americans traded tactical, strategic info and gave arms to Ho Chi Minh in the hopes that he could keep the japanese out of vietnam in WW2...the result was him using all of that to slaughter 58,000 Americans in the 60's and 70's.
