Recently when I'm out I find myself sitting by a taple sipping a beer, thinking about the horrible job whoever set up the sound system did, how that awful wanker of a dj got a job i would kill for and do 100 times better and vow to never come back. :whip:
Of course next week the same thing happens again.

Some times I've even left early and rushed home to my decks.

This is seriously frustrating, I cant enjoy a night out.
Some woman even came up to me once and said I looked "deeply unhappy".
I told her to off, and kept sipping my beer.

How do you guys cope?

sometimes you just gotta ignore it and go with the flow. i tell the peeps i know that it sux when you become a dj cuz you cant enjoy the trainwrecking djs anymore.

Especially at Frat parties, which I gave up on.

Of course they only play hip-hop :(, but the real problem is their hired "DJ" just clicks next track in winamp.

Dude, record a demo, and send it to the club. Problem solved.

I was pissed at first to actually know how many crappy djs there are, but then you just say eh, it is just a bar.

I get a kick out of listening to some of the "DJs" in the clubs out there.

Btw, the next time a girl comes up and says that to you, you're supposed to keep up the conversation, not tell her where to shove it. ;)

You know when you become interested in a profession, you easily discover flaws. I remember going clubbing when i wasn't a tad interested in Djing (because i didn't know what it was :p), well i never paid attention to them of such....BUT now when i go out, im constantly looking at the DJ. I dunno, but if you weren't interested in Djin or anything, i dont think it would bother you...

as some one said, just go with the flow...

i to look at the dj more often then before i began spinnin'. it is sometimes frustrating to watch other people doing a bad dj-set.
in my case it's easy or i get really drunk or when it's a local party i usually know the dj and i ask if i can take a look in the booth and then i give them some tips, most of the time it's me that ends the night spinning because those other locals don't know about spinning and they get bored really fast good for me

Well I've noticed that I just can't go with the flow if the dj trainwrecks really bad or, worse than that, plays some tunes that just doesant fit the atmosphere. Hearing such things just takes away the positive energy inside.. Its totaly vice versa when dj plays some great tunes & keeps it up with good mixing skills. In that case I can really feel the music & go with the flow..

I am able to remove myself to just be 'out on a night'. I have however noticed a more scrutinising side. This doesn't however detract too much from the night as i really only frequent places i know the music will be towards my tastes. And if the music is bad i tend to take the piss for my entertainment. Then again i have only been mixing for about 5 months and am slowly sinking into it more and more. I honesly cringe in the majority of pubs / bars etc just because the music is e, and rarely go to any any more.
