all i know is that in the entire 6 years ive played music, the only time i really had to read any crowd was playing at someones birthday party because you're going from such a different range in styles to cater for such a different range of audience.. i would have thought that people who went to raves went for a particular thing - cause they love the style that a certain dj plays?
i pay good money to go and see tiesto and armin play a style of music which i love.. armin had it best when someone recently asked him in an interview about reading the crowd, something about do you change your sets to suit a certain crowd and he said 'people are coming to see me, so i assume they wanna hear an arminish sound' or something along those lines.. |

given up trying to reason with u
i am thinking of writing in to Dj mag though, maybe they can set up a new reviews section for you... "half assed techno" so that the column currently used for "trance" can only contain your pure reflection of the very varied genre.
heck, they could even rename that "We Love Armin" by Escee" section??? |
yes please, but only if i can make the phat bling bling yo. |

What are we all talking about here??
That Tiesto is ..
Well whoever thinks that can keep their opinion to themselves. I can make up my own mind.
Yes CJ Bolland does kick some serious arse, but that's not reason to put other DJs down. |

dave knows how to read a crowd :)
especially when its just one person and he knows what that person wants :D :D :D
i haven't really listened to many tiesto sets this year, i think i may have only heard the one that was on fox fm, it had 'reverence', 'hypnotised', was great stuff! i also love 'nyana' and can't understand why people bag it, as far as im concerned the mixing is fine and the tracks are all great. and after having a couple of goes at mixing i know what ty mixing sounds like :p :stongue:
so im gonna go to nye, and im gonna enjoy it because (assuming he isn't wasted from sydney) he is going to rock, and dance around and play with the crowd and just be an enjoyable experience, even if i don't necessarily like every track he plays. so im pumped up :D
ps
hey beemer, possible oslo nights tour in australia soon :D :eyespop: |

I have heard a few sets from Tiesto this year and that set isnt the best i have heard him do, but you dont have to put him down because of one set. Tiesto is a mad DJ and he might of been trying to do something different but dont on him cause he is trying different stuff. Maybe the crowd loved it.
P.S. I think Nyana rocked aswell, so your not the only one Philby |

um so anyway i listened to Tiesto's set from Innercity and i love it!
This is EXACTLY what i want to hear on NYE!!!!! :clown:
Bring it on! Man if he plays most of the tunes in this set the place is seriously going to go off!
Im sure everyone will enjoy it for the sheer vibe that will be created :eyes:
Im so excited only one more sleep.
Only thing im worried about is its all going to be over so quick :nervous: |

| OMG how good is the Montana mix of Traffic?!?!? |

Montana mix of traffic is good. But you cant polish a turd into gold.
Tiesto last night was good, not great though, so he isnt dead to me, however i dont think ill be listening to his sets until they are recommended to me.
Tracklist for perth is similar to over east, he played the kid vicious mix of carte blanche and Ronald van debuken - Timeless. Didnt play silence/urban train, did play flight 643 though. Mixing was pretty bad I thought. |
