| I'm 3 steps beyond that, prog got boring....so now it's still trance, breaks and dirty as heck tech-house :D. I did find that over the years that my listening habits have changed, it's not just trance, trance, trance because I overplayed it and lost the desire to listen to it. So I figured, balance it out with other genres, so I have done that and I find that's much better. |

I dunno Im not fully converted because I listened to the Digweed & Muir CD, and I just couldnt get it, it really bored me, but Im starting to get into to others. I love Yunus Guvenen, just started getting into Matthew Dekay, Schulz is great, Ive always been a Sander fan, Luke Chable is great, but then again who isnt on Chable's jock right now, umm Ive been checking out some Van Bellen, and Greed has always been one of my favs since strange world so I dunno wat those kind of taste mean but theyve been stuck in my player for a while, especially Yunus, I can remember listening to his tracks a while back and nearly vomitting, now I gobble anything he makes up. I also I like Subsky a whole lot didnt know they were this talented, but shouldve know after four days, and Im experimenting with Danny Howells not all of his stuff I like but some, Im still new to his productions. |

| I am like Toronto, I am trying to balance trance with other genres so it doesnt get old and bore me. Also, I am finally starting to like more Digweed stuff. I just got Stark Raving Mad and I love it. |

| ive never 'hated' progressive.. i mean prog dont mean its all house.. there are tons of progressive trance tracks outhere ie. sasha's gus' tranceport II, nick warren's latest gu etc etc.. its just that from like 97 - 2000, trance was unstopple.. so many dope tracks were being made and it was impossible not to like them then it started to burn out as of late.. quality stuff are still being produced, but very slowly and the medicore/bad tracks flood the industry.. in the prog world, it died down alot as well.. there are som much cheese prog nowadays it aint even funny.. my 2cents is, respect all genres of edm and find the 'jewels' from each genre/sub-genres.. :p |

Erm, you mean Gus Gus - Purple (Sasha vs The Light Remix). And yes, that's a briliant example of progressive trance during its golden age.
I still maintain that Sasha-style progressive trance is better than uplifting, prog, and hard trance rolled together, but that's just my opinion. :) |

haha what a coincidince... although i know what YOURE saying, i meant to say Sasha's Global Undergrounds' i think u put the apostraphy after the 's' when its plural..:p |

its all about appreciating all styles of music,and this is because of maturity.you get older,you appreciate alot more things,you analyse more things,you dont just jump away from a music style all of a sudden but more you would give it a few listens first and make some sense of it.
thats my thoery anyway.explains why at first i couldnt get into prog or techno,but now i am. |

all good.. ta isnt exactly known for using perfect punctuations and grammar..although it IS a bit annoying sometimes.. just seems like ppl should care a little more.. anyway back on topic, if you dig progressive trance, checkout a dutch artist called "Fitalic" he makes amazing stuff.. one of my fav. is "Dark Shades" and there is a live set by him that is simply amazing.. :p |

| well heres a backwards situation... i started off in prog, like deep deep prog, deep dish, john debo, ali ajami, digweed, the works. Now i whip out those old records and i watch them do nothing for me on the dance floor. They are great to listen to in your free time, in the car, while reading. But honestly they lack a lot when it comes to the dance floor which oddly enough, they say its geared towards. i'm not sure thats satisfies what everyone else isnt' saying, but it really is a much more mature sound and i think my friend who is on the Perfecto tour said it best... 'yeah trance makes all the headlines and rightly so, i mean dancing to trance is awesome, but when it comes to progressive its a much slower sound and i think for that reason an older audience appreciates it. It doesn't make you run to the dance floor but its awesome to groove with yourself while you're getting a drink. It makes for good convo talk and all in all you can still dance to it.' |
