I didnt encounter one single rude person. The bouncers were a bit edgy at the end of the night, but they managed to maintain a decent level of consideration...I mean, they went through a very serious night---they were responsible for controlling chaos---

As for the attendees, I never once encountered anyone rude---the place was filled with fun cool people...such a better crowd than most trance events, sadly. im sure Ill get for that statement, but its really how i feel nowadays...now that im getting into people like Nick Warren, Lawler, Sasha---it seems like their crowds are just so much better....more mature---at trance events it can get pretty silly. ya know?

So this review is a little late, but give me a break I'm in the Virgin Islands for vacation ;).

Went to Rachel's party and met some TA's. Took off kind of early to get in line for Sasha. I thought that ID's were going to be a HUGE problem but the bouncer barely even glanced at mine. I was then informed that only people that had bought tickets in advance were going to be allowed in, so my friend passed her ticket back to me; and what do you know once I got inside I could still buy tickets at the door! Stupid Avalon bouncers. Anyway after that the night was truly legendary! Ya it was crowded but what do you expect? Avalon is a top notch club on the #1 party night of the year. Sound, lights, and everything were on point.

After the ball drop Sasha really started getting into it. I had a blast dancing with Paul, his girlfriend (sorry forgot the name), Trunks1022, Christina (#1 party girl!), Mark, Helen, Mindy, Jaime, W., Jass (awesome dude with a mohawk), etc. After about 3 the floor opened up and there was room to really move. I loved groving to Dirty Sticky Floor, and that other song from Sasha's Cremefield Mix with "emotions" in the vocals. I agree that he did play a lot of songs that I already knew, but I personally like it when DJ's do that. It definitely wasn't more than 1/2 of the songs though, so it was a good balance. I SOOOO mad that I missed X-pander Cowgirl mix. I had to leave @ 6 to catch a plane >:0.

Hands down BEST NIGHT of 2003/2004!!!! I had a blast partying with everyone. Hopefully the next good party will be 18+ so all TA's can come out.

Got to tell you...flew in from Atlanta for Sasha @ Avalon..a huge dissapointment. The space was very nicely decorated and layed out properly...but the club was completely oversold and uncomfortable to meneuver in. The crowd was guido filled, and snobby. The soundsytem was lacking volume in my honest opinion..considering the amount of EAW speakers it had inside (maybe not tuned properly?) My wife was uncomfortable with the unisex bathrooms in Avalon (the guido guys with their muscle shirts hitting on her didn't help :whip We had spent $590 dollars on a table and a bottle of Grey Goose for 3 of us...and the VIP area was oversold as well. (truly a disaster waiting to happen as far as fire codes go). We ended up leaving the club at about 3:00am completly dissapointed and decided to head over to ARC for Sander.

This is where our night began to turn for the better. Very nice space..great people..a strong vibe..and amazing music. The PHAZON soundsystem was unreal...it seemed that every square inch of the club was covered and sounded amazing (crisp highs and thumping basslines).
Sander layed it down PROPER and I found a new found respect for Klienburg. I had seen him years ago in Atl..and was left unimpressed. But on NYE..he dropped some of the most amazing tracks I have ever heard. He kept the crowd mooving...and just when I wanted to take a break from dancing..another amazing floor stomping track was seemlessly mixed. Does anyone have a track list?

We stayed until 9am and then left for some sleep. Overall a great night..and I will def return to Arc again in the near future. As for Avalon?? umm...NEXT!

well, with your newfound respect for Sander, you may want to also find out how to spell his name correctly :stongue:

jokes aside, im sorry you had a bad night...what VIP room were you in? Spider Room was the place to be...hands down I think everyone who was uncomfortable would have really enjoyed themselves more had they been able to retreat to Spider when things got too loco in the main rooms...

We chose the stage..which got VERY crowded by about 1am. We had drunk chicks who knocked over our bottle twice and our entire table once when she fell over. Nice right?

Being promoters from Atlanta..and knowing the overall costs of the evening..they could have sold 500 less tickets and still made a good amount of profit and kept it comfortable for the partons inside (considering Sasha was paid $75,000..not the $100,000 that was posted on here earlier in the month)

I do feel that the safety of the club partons was compromised at Avalon. In Atlanta, the fire marshall would have shut this party down in a heartbeat...leaving everyone in the cold. Are the fire code laws different in NY? Here If the marshall does come in to the club..and cannot walk a straight line from the front to the back of the club..the party is shut down.

I also flew in from Atlanta for this night. I am by far one of the biggest Sasha fans alive, and I thought it was a completely wasted trip. This event was waaaaay oversold and a rip off in my opinion. Sasha's set was still incredible, don't get me wrong, but it was too hard to enjoy with a bunch of dumbs knocking me and my girlfriend around. It litterally took us 30 minutes to walk from the main floor to the smoke area, and by the time we got there our full drinks were empty due too the dumbs. I had planned on staying until close, but was utterly pissed off with it being way to crowded, so I ended up leaving around 4. The funny thing is, they were still letting people in when we left. I would have gladdly payed more money for a ticket if it insured that the club would not be overcrowded. Avalon itself is a great club, I guess it was just the wrong night to go...

the safety was clearly compromised. Anyone with malintentions could have easily creamed us all in there...

memories of Space at last year's wmc resonated in my mind...especially the night when tiesto and okie spun .... total chaos and too many people, it is just too dangerous.
