You mean this isnt the mythical world where everyone owns an exotic supercar?

Dude, what he mentioned has absolutely NOTHING to do with rice. Rice is having a fart pipe and a bunch of that makes your car "look" fast and sound fast but when it comes down to it, couldn't give a Geo Metro a race. He's an Icy Hot Stunna for sure. :stongue:

Or useless vehicular modifications that add to the load to the vehicle and/or make it worse in some measurable aspect. 20's? yeah. bmw's do have nice powerplants stock in addition to be being a solidly built vehicle but rice is rice :)
Ian^
I have an imaginary car that takes me to places that may or may not exist outside my mind.

I also have a mountain bike, it has punctures & needs a lot of work doing to get it roadworthy again

How would you be able to watch a tv whilst ur driving? Your more dangerous on the road than drunk drivers if u do that!!!

Seriously, grow up!

you assume too much. you guys dont know me.

i know how to drive and watching tv while driving is easy if you are careful and dont drive quick.

as for all the mods im gonna pay for that, my dad just bought me the car and nothing else. i even pay for my own gas.

if you knew anything about the law and ICTV's you would know that they are wired to the handbrake and will "turn off" when the handbrake is released. this is for obvious safety reasons. so no watching DVD's whilst "rolling" around :stongue:

Also, 3 TV's, i assume you will get one of the Multimedia Stations in the front and 2 auxillary screens in the headrests? remember you need one of those multimedia processors to split the signals to the appropriate destinations. What system do you have? If you want TV's and stuff, go for Alpine or Sony

If you do get 20's, please also think about uprating your brakes. The stock disks and pads are not going to take to kindly to stopping wheels that weigh a lot more than stock rims. Also make sure that the ET rating will match your car. I can see you running into a lot of problems if you just buy, for example, "the most expensive set of 20"s in the shop". Like i said earlier, they aren't going to bolt straight on either, and if they do, they are going to rub against the inner archs and therefore, you won't be able to drive out of the shop.

If you do get the rims, at least change your bumpers to the M// Sport bumpers that you can find on the Ci or M 3 Series, as bling rims coupled with bumpers with plastic bits on them will look, well, . If theres one thing i hate on cars anywhere, is cars that have a major part missing. If you get rims, get a bodykit at the same time. get a suspension upgrade soon after, otherwise the ground clearnce on your car will rival an SUV's :haha:

You can find good quality modified BMW's here

www.dantecdesign.co.uk

The green E36 is my mate's personal project, a small tech spec is as follows: 2.0L, with T28 turbo conversion (i believe it was the 1st of its kind in the UK, if not the world), entire engine uprated, Full Fusion install, Full Custom Animal Bodykit, 19" Breyton Rims, Hi-Spec Big brake conversion, Custom green/prple/blue flip paint, full custom leather interior.

dj mdma, thx for advice

in los angeles the laws are different. you can drive with the tv's on.

it doesnt turn off when the handbrake is off.

and no i will not be getting tv's in the headrests. i am getting laptop folddowns from the roof for the back, just behind the sunroof.

and when i get 20's im also gonna get me some brembo's if they fit on bmw's
dj_mdma
oops that link is actually www.dantecdesign.com

well don't watch too much TV when you drive, otherwise you will regret it :nervous:

i do know that TV's in the rear of the car don't turn off when you drive...

since you are getting the motorised screens that fold into the roof, i assume you will be getting the sony one's? (can't remember the model number right now) those are pretty sweet.

You should be able to get a brembo brake upgrade for BMW's, failing that just transplant the brakes from an M3 onto your car, as they should be able to fit on pretty easily.

my friend had an e36 like a while ago and he got some 18's that stickout a little and the cut the whole top part of the bodys rim spot.

if i get 20's will they fit or custom work has to be done.
dj_mdma
custom work DEFINATELY will need to be done.

if you check out the link that i posted, it was very difficult putting those 19"'s on. At the back, the inside of the rim was rubbing against something (i can't remember, this car is quite old now) and they had to cut something out.

At the front, this is where the main problems lie. basically the outer arch needs to be made smaller, so that the wheel can clear the arch when you steer, otherwise your car has less control. also, as you turn the wheel, the inside of the rim will definately touch the inner arch and will probably touch brakelines, which is also very dangerous.

The work that will have to be done, is rolling the arches, reshaping the inner arches, re locating brakelines/hoses. The problem with doing all this is to make sure the final finish looks like factory, and will take time. Since you want airbags, you will need to tell the body shop that so that they can make the top bit of the inside of the arch have enough space for the rim to sink into when you drop the car.

If pulled off correctly, it will look good, but it won't be a quick fix
