abstaining from voting would be misleading too .. imagine if only like 5 or 6 ppl voted.. that would hardly be an accurate represenation of the sentiments on this board. i believe the majority of people here still first came to this site originally because of trance. Perhaps their tastes in music has changed over time which is perfectly fine.
anyways .. according to the poll it seems trance is still in the lead

What exactly is the reason for having to pick a favourite? I like trance, I like breaks, I like techno, I like jungle. I may hit up other parties, but I still go to the trance ones that I like. I don't have a favourite genre, that whole concept is silly and I think that people who try so hard to be loyal to one particular genre are trying way too hard to fit in with a clique and probably should have their heads examined. I don't find it necessary to quantify my tastes and come up with a ranking system, it's meaningless - if I like it, I'll listen to it.
I think this poll is incredibly misleading. Just because people's tastes have broadened to other genres does not imply that they're no longer interested in trance or the trance scene. The poll seems to have a slant that people are losing interest in trance music, but acquiring interest in other things is not the same as losing it in trance. |

| I voted other. Trance is still alright; but it's not my number 1. I know Sasha spins trance, but he's in a class of his own, and its really not the type of trance that AvB, Tiesto, or PvD spin (not to mention he spins lots of prog house too). |

BINGO! I listen to a lot of music genres, primarily electronica, but trance is my primary music genre. I also like Disco, retro, house, techno,classic eurodance/dance music 1990-1997, smooth and acid jazz, ambient, melodical classical, goa, psy, a bit of d'n b ...
So I cannot vote, I cant make a decision, I like all of dam! Dammit! But I am a TA at heart! |

I modified the poll to reflect some of the comments made. Even though most of do enjoy trance we also listen to other forms of EDM also. Therefore it only makes sense to have a category for these TOTAs.

the thing is even if the 2nd option had more votes than trance .. if u were to break it up into sub genres and allocate votes to each , it would appear that trance would still hold the largest fraction of audience here..
so i guess Graham for now u can still call it TRANCEaddict :D

I agree, it's too late to modify now, the results will be even more misleading. Unless you wipe out the results and get everyone to vote again!
Now, I suppose Psy is under "other" as well, right? ;)
By the way, Itikia, why would you change someone else's poll? I agree that a good poll would have that option, but it seems a little inappropriate to me for you to modify other people's threads unless they are somehow breaking forum rules, etc. Of course, if you consulted with Highroller first, then you can ignore my comment. |

| The question is asking what you 'prefer' - so even in the original poll your choice only indicates a preference - not an exclusion of the other form(s) of EDM. |
