Yes and no. Almost everybody in this country will say they are christian when asked as such, but the fact of the matter is most people barely pay lip service to it, let alone follow a christian way of life. In fact, the majority of americans only go to church about 2 or 3 times a year. Christianity is just like a little saftey blanket people have over here. (Though there are some genuinely religious people over here, don't get me wrong) But general society does not like people who are not christian, especially aethiests like me :) I could see a jew perhaps coming into an office of some sort, and I would't be surprised if there are some in small political positions, but absolutely NEVER an aethiest or any other non-christian religion.
And FYI, the whole "Freedom of religion" thing we supposedly have over here, while true to some extent, was writen with nothing more than various branches of christianity in mind, not outright other religions. |
I see, you seriously should move here ;), there are loads of atheists/humanists/agnostics/deists who aren't indoctrinated, religion isn't really much of an issue here (Or you could just pack up and head to France, it's practically the exact opposite of the situation of the US, they hate religious people :p).

My friend from Aussy asked me if its offensive in America to call somebody sick count?
Is Australians call cool people a sick count? |
"Sick ". It's just a term used by, well, stupid people. Think of an American saying something like ' bro, word up dog', but replace the words with " mate, you're a sick yeh?", and you should get the picture. :p |

I always thought that France was known for having, well, a large amount of good looking women. Paris = Capital of romance etc.

there's some truth in this, some women don't shave their armpits or legs... but i guess its a fashion thing.
Parisians are uber-trendy and you'll find a hard time finding non-shaved women in Paris. |
