i've been thinking about this stuff for a while, in vancouver we've been having issues with electronic music on FM radio for some time. the best thing is to have a few radio shows dedicated to the music, not a whole station. besides, if i'm correct, i dont think there is an electronic only radio station anywhere in the world (i hope im wrong). even ID&T is dance crap during the day and special shows in the evening and whenever. this way, the music stays somewhat underground, yet there is exposure on commercial radio

have u guys seen the new dance moves show on bpm???

i thought it was one of those joke commercials at first..

the entire show is these 5 chix repeating these same stupid ass cheesy dance moves over and over again... kinda like the acrobatics shows they make in hawai or whatever, but this is for dancing... this thing goes on for an entire HOUR!

atleast they could put rave moves and glowstick tricks on there!!!

hahah

ya i mean dancing isnt dancing if ure following some RULE.. dancing to me is about breaking the rules.. leting your spirit speak through your body.. u dont THINK about ure moves when ure dancing!

and ya... the chix are fine, but they could wear some tighter and more revealing clothes though.

maybe some bondage or latex suits?

or 30" raver pants!

Well, I see your point... but me personally if I'm not at a party listening to the freshest tracks a Dj's dropping on the dancefloor, the next best place out there is radio -- mind you, it's BBC's Radio 1 (The Essential Mix) or John Digweed's Kiss 100 Friday night mixes... THAT's what we need here. Unfortunately we (North Americans) don't have the openmindedness for this music...

edit: yet apri_peel, you're right in saying that most likely these stations play other crap during the day and it's not all EDM all the time -- which is a shame.

Hey folks, I just joined the forum here. TVmann told us BPM:TV forum members about this thread. Glad to be here!

So I'm still watching BPM:TV for now. The best show I've seen this week is "Best of NuBeatz". Fortunately for me I haven't seen all the best episodes of NuBeatz yet. Yaaaay!

I was hoping for some really good new shows, but so far the new shows leave much to be desired. Those who were talking about ballet weren't far off -- "Dance Moves" is a show where they teach you how to dance. The format reminds me and others of an exercise video though.

Yesterday I caught "Dance Recall", with host Louie La Vella. The first episode reminded me of a countdown show, without the countdown of course. There was no fun component in it. No host joking around with the technical staff, no laughing. In fact, Louie's show companion was a video screen. I suggested in the BPM forum that that show could use a little more fun in it. Maybe it'll get better as they get more feedback. I hope so.

I like the format where the host, be it Cinar, Vishanti or AJ is in the same room as the technical people, interracting with them and having lots of fun. I wonder if the mood at BPM these days would allow for that though... I'd love to get in touch with some of the staff to see what things are like these days. I feel for them.

Still watching...Today I saw "Mix of Nations", which is a half-hour show very similar to Peak Hour. If you like Peak Hour you'll probably like Mix of Nations.

Tomorrow I'll be seeing the new NuBeatz. It's going to be an hour long. I wonder who's going to host it...My guess is Louie. According to his bio, it seems he has his fingers in the scene somewhere. My expectations are low at the moment. Hopefully I'll be surprised.

So far there aren't any new episodes of Back At Ya. A banner on the BPM website says to submit your requests for Valentine's Day. I hope Vishanti sticks around.

Cinar, we miss you! Keep us posted on your new opportunities! I hope you can make a go of the all Dance radio...and when you do, make sure that it simulcasts on the Internet -- I'll be dialed in. :)

Miami Florida http://www.Party931.com
Arizona http://www.energyarizonafm.com/
Texas http://www.1067kdl.com/
San Jose California http://www.927party.com/ (great management team)

are just a few 24 hour pure dance stations in North America alone.
We will never get a 24 hour dance station in Toronto because we don't know how to unite. We complain when z103 plays a Paul Van Dyk song.
In order to keep a 24 hour station running in Toronto, the playlist would have to contain Euro, Freestyle along side house and trance because that's what our dance music scene here is based around. There is no way around it. Untill everyone realizes this stations like BPM will just keep going under due to lack of support, therefore lack of advertising, therefore lack of money.

Well, I'm watching the new "NuBeatz III" on BPM:TV, and it has Cinar on it. Yaaaay!

But since Cinar is not at BPM anymore, I suppose there will be a limited number of episodes like this. Looks like my watching of BPM:TV will be limited to a few good shows instead of being on most of the time. :(

Hello Internet radio!

ID&T IN OWNES, i know that during the day it has pretty commercial and chill out music, but after 8.... AvB, Dana, Joop, De Hey, Gielen, Marco V. Ferry Corsten and many many more come out and play, and you cant deny how good that is.
In State OF Trance BLOWS MY MIND every week.
and on the BPM thing.... i knew a dance-trace channel on TV was too good to be true.... i even switched from shaw to rogers for it... now i know i made a horrible mistake
