Yes - there should still be lots of videos of Eurodance and some trance - that is a low-cost source of material for them. They just won't rerun that stuff quite as often if they bring in other types of programming.
MC Mario is supposed to starting a program of some kind.
Really nice nice trance video they have is Push - Strange World -shows them playing their keyboards, drums etc in a club - which was surprising to me 'cuz I thought their music was all done in the studio on computers. |

great...I didn't care for much of the old format, but I can tell already that I'll be watching the new one even less. This is not moving "forward" at all.
Guaranteed that there will definitely be more euro trash and hip hop in the rotation too :( |

| I'll give it a month and if I don't see enough real content (real trance...not Euro) and if it's e, bye bye BPM. |

Well it's closing in on the end of March and this is what's happened at BPMTV...
They started playing Pink, Britney, Kellis, 50cents etc., etc. and I thought I gotta say something. I mean, many of us pay good money for what we love. Our voices have to count for something. So I made it my personal goal over the months to try and make sure that they kept our music at BPMTV. I mean BPM...what else do you think it stands for...certainly not ballet or mainstream muzik.
Anyways, I posted on thier forum everytime something didn't look and sound right. I was after them to hear my voice and I encouraged other subscribers to join in, to save our music. Some were against me cuz they were conned by the BPMTV administrator that had no real music background other than to type and brown nose, others misinterpretted my intentions. I tried to remain as cool as possible. Since Cinar was gone and he told me he wanted to put it past him and move on, I had to do something to save our music.
So finally I got some results, I think?
The Administrator (who I had to apologize to) finally started taking baby steps of action...so I gave her what she wanted to hear, to smooth things over. Even though she talked about FuZion as if they were close friends(twas NOT true).
...her promise is to atleast keep our hot20 with solely Euro charts based Trance/dance music and eliminate britney and the rest of the mainstream.
wewhew! I small victory.
Atleast my effort brought out the wolf in sheeps clothing. apri_peel is part of capitalism clan. I started a poll to see who believed that mainstream music belonged at BPM. Overall it was a resounding NO. Only the Administrator and apri answered yes. apri took it on herself tell me to stop my b*tchen at bpmtv--funny thing to say for someone who says that they are not part of the bpmtv clan (being their forum modulator). |

| I still dont see why they had to get rid of Cinar. He was the ONLY one there that had a clue on what the scene really is about, brought content to that station, and is an easily approachable guy. |

I agree, but I got warned by---believe it or not, a lot of the viewers to stop trying to get at the info. Bottom line is Rosemary Fusco (the same one who fired Cinar and now calls herself the music director) just didn't want him around. Not much we can do to change that. But a lot of us expressed our disapproval to no avail.
The only thing I look forward to now, is to make sure they don't shut our music down. It seems everwhere I turn, some close minded person or group are stereotyping our music and saying that it's gotta go cuz X or some other drug is part of that, and I quote "cult". I mean really...as if you don't find it amongst rap, hip hop or mainstream music lovers. I am so tired of turning on the radio and hearing crap. It's bad enough I pay for a channel now that has two dedicated shows called hip hop nation and urban groove. As if we needed a repeat of BET in Canada.
Even in the 80's when Disco was around, Brampton (of all places) had a radio station dedicated to Disco Dance music. It was called CHIC 760 Disco. Now with Trance, we got nothin. It just erks me real bad.
I really do want Cinar to start a radio station. We really need one here in Toronto. I mean, Chicago has a dance station, why don't we? :sadgreen: |

i'm sure Emery would agree with me when i say the reason why we don't get a dance station is because of "capitalism". |

I've looked into it and the costs are beyond prohibitive. This is supposed to be a society where opportunity exists for all but in this case, if you're not a multimillionaire, the CRTC (Capitalist Run Telecommunications Commission) wont even look at you...
I'm afraid the only way we can see this to fruition is to find a corporate sponsor (like CORUS or ROGERS) with alot of money that is willing to invest and take a chance. Until then, dance music will be the property of of basement DJs running winamp from their home internet stations or late night radio between 3-6 on thursday nights. Not the kind of exposure you need to get at your typical joe schmo CD buyer....
Cheers,
Cinar |

| As soon as I saw that black guy on there hosting Urban Groove and Hip Hop Nation...I knew things were going down hill. So I gave it a month...nothing new...same old crap...saw Britney Spears on there once when I was flipping through. So I made the decision last week to say goodbye. Cancelled....what a waste of $7.50 that was. |

| Do digital stations have the same CanCon requirements that non-digital stations do? |

Hey guys, I propose we send an email to the new club "Lucid" http://www.lucidworld.ca that's opening in TO. Send your emails to [email protected] .
I want them to consider hiring DJ FuZion (aka Cinar Onat) for any opportunity they have open. Either as a dj or to help him independantly produce a show from their club (with him as the host) they can then sell it to tv stations.
Our dance commun is huge. We are just as devoted to dance as the U.K. Berlin, Germany and Australia. Canada is important too.
Better yet, maybe they can help DJ FuZion produce a Radio Station specifically for the Thursday/Friday/Saturday nights. We really need a radio station like badly here in TO.
Come on dance community....let's do somethin for us and help to correct the unjustice that bpmtv did when they replaced FuZion with the station owners inept sister (Rosemary).
PEACE :toocool:
