i'm tired of defending this track but one last time...
some tracks lack a certain...lets call it sophistication. But that doesn't mean its a bad track. Traffic is simple, dirty, and driving. Its meant to bang in a club on a big sound system.
Its meant to be a stormer, something to lift the energy of a set and get people dancing.
It seems like a lot of people who slam these type of tracks cannot appreciate them for what they are. I can understand if you find it hard to respect the quality of production (but you would still be missing the point). But don't dismiss a track b/c the mp3 is not a good back drop for surfing the web. |
my thoughts exactly!:D |

the tune was new, different, and one of the remixes of it was powerful....
and its not trance. far from it.

| I hate saying the same thing I've been saying since May, but Traffic is NOT a simple track. It is minimalistic, and anyone with musical training can tell you that the harmonic progression and the way the sample unfolds is actually a quite complex deceptive cadence. Sandstorm and Resurrection are definitely simple, Traffic is not simple at all. I'm not saying it's the greatest piece of music, but in this scene it is quite an avant-garde piece of work that is perfectly effective for the dancefloor. That is all. |

That's the point!
When you're dancing you want energetic tracks like these, maybe Traffic is popular cos' the name of Tiesto but its still being a good track. |

This is the exact reason people think trance never evolves and it always sounds the same. Every time something different comes along you have to give it its own box. |

Yeah, it's not formulaic epic cheese but that doesn't mean it's not Trance. |

I agree.
BUT I do respect the people who likes it because:
1. I have experienced the opposite thing with other tracks (I like it and others hate it)
2. If I just say "you suck because you like this" I'm no better than those........l337's
3. I get +1 on my postcount :D |

Yes, pretty much everyone played Sandstorm and its really nothing
wrong with the tune itself, just the people now bashing it.
Because it hit the charts AND the crowds the people that used
to like it, now hates it and thinks of it as cheese, overplayed and
so on. Hey, nothing wrong with that either BUT(!) then one should NOT
use "the big crowds like it, Tiesto rocks! as an argument.
It looks kinda bad to be dissing big crowds, charts and all that
in one post and then praising it in another.
Atleast when people seem to be stuck at using as few words as they
can instead of evolving their opinions hence making them more interesting
to read and (hopefully) more sane.
I dont think a tune gets bad because it hits the charts, i dont
think a tune gets better by having 50000 people listening to it at
Impulz Outdoors either, I dont even see it as an argument. |
I think I got your point but for this tune is somewhat different.
It has 0% commercial elements in it and still getīs the crowd going even in a commercial disco where people wanna hear commercial trance.. |
