I want to build a table for my turntables and mixer. I know alot of people build custom tables. I can work dimensions and lengths and stuff out. I have a few general questions for anyone who knows how to do this or has done it:
- What's the best kind of wood/materials to use?
- Are there any plans that show how to build them?
- How do you incorperate wire space and such?
- Any 'Do's and Don'ts'?
Thanks!:D |
ya look good, thats all for now |

| Making a simple table, with a top and shelves like shown in the CAD sketch is rather easy. Go to your local lumber place, grab a sheet(s) of 3/4" plywood (according to the measurements you need - plywood comes in sheets) and build. The only problem I see people having is cutting the wood, I dont think everyone has a saw at their disposal. Other than that, you simply cut to your measurement and screw or staple the wood together, for those thinking about a base, its really not that necessary. In my opinion the standard size for a table that would fit a mixer and 2 turntables would have to be 48" x 20" x 30". For the top of the table, stack two pieces of plywood on top of each other, just for good measure - although plywood is very strong. |

Hmmm, now that I think about it, maybe I should start alittle thing for myself to make money on the side, and build DJ tables and accessories. Do you guys think it would sell? |
yes. |

| Im trying to come up with a design for a record cases/holder/shelve, it would work like those CD holders that spin and hold like 100 CDs - only this one will obviously be larger. It will spin like the CD cases also. My only problem is its size, I want to make it take up as little room as possible, but this might be inevitable. |

| Actually, my brother has a large one (not home made) that holds 340something. It takes up about the same amount of space as an ordinary stereo or reciever, maybe a little bit more. |

| that last table is built well, but i'm not likin' the round look of the table...personally i prefer it the table is either straight or at a right angle......like an L-shaped desk...i guess it's easier to work with a round desk, but dunno, it looks kinda wierd... |
