**Clubwear** (pg. 10)

why do people think that u have to go anywhere and be dressed a certain way? lol i dress pretty causual most of the time. still girly but not dressy. i go to raves in my normal clothes i dont own any thing specifically for raving. and ill go to a club in tennis shoes and not dressed up cause its not how im comfortable.. i cant wear a dress or skirt cause then i cant wear sneakers and then i cant dance.

twilo i agree w/ what u say but its not really culture its more a lifestyle. culture goes way deeper than our clubbing habits. and even though that is different in different areas. people are all still human when it comes to drugs and the way they use them. im sure its pretty much equal everywhere in that matter. yes there are a lot of kids ruining "the scene" or whatever u want to call it. but what the ?! i dont care how old you are. what the government is doing is wrong. not ever on any war on drugs (and drugs have always been associated with certain music) has the government targeted the music as much as they are now!! its bull!! we need to stop trying to put blame on these kids. i dont think the government has any right to tell us what we can and cannot put into OUR bodies! if the government wasnt making such a hassle about e and trance would we really look down so much on the kids who are doing it? no.. actually more people would be joining them w/o worries. im a strong believer in standing for what u believe. if we put on the news everytime there was an alcohol related death and showed it like they do "mdma related" deaths i think people might take a new perspective. its not our buisness what these kids do w/ their lives. for a country who has in god we trust stamped on its money it seems that there is little faith here. we shouldnt be fighting and bringing negative vibes to our people. we are all here dealing w/ the same bull.

maybe it is trance that provokes xtc use. i hear people state here all the time that e enhances the music for them. and thats something that doesnt hold true for me. maybe if we took away the music the kids would stop using it. maybe its more common at a rave cause raves are 10,000 times larger than a club. have u ever been to a small rave? i dont think u will find as many people on e as u would a large one.. but the ratio may still be the same. but like i said thats just my opinion on the matter. and ill stick by it.. cause i dont think trance is the only thing that brings unity to this community i think e has something to do w/ it to.

Ok...hehehe i have soo much to say....To Tu-Face...there are regulars at all clubs...twilo kids were called twilo-ites....or junior-ites if they followed junior vasquez who was the resident dj on sat nites. and when you go you see the same peeps time and time again...like a lil family. lol my group of friends nicknamed ourselves the twilo crew...b/c it was due to twilo that we all became friends. I'm like you...one of those peeps that can go out and meet people. And I've gone to twilo alone and met up with friends inside. I used to be a regular at Sound Factory but I progressed from there...the resident dj on sat nites spins mainly nyc house, hard house, and really cheesy trance. So when I got really really into trance I frequented SF less and less. I haven't been there in over a year.

To THEOD...I've only been to small raves...less then 3,000 people and I noticed the things I've mentioned in my other. Normally when I go to a club its packed and most of the major after hours clubs in NYC hold at least 2,500. I actually went to a rave at Sound Factory...the club I mentioned above...and it wasn't nearly as packed as the club is on a Sat nite. And this was a major rave that was taking place. I guess the biggest "rave" if you can call it that...that I will be attending is Creamfields NY. So I don't think that my experinces have to do with the Ratio of people b/c I haven't been to those huge huge raves. And I agree with you that the media and government totally blow things out of proportion and I think that the government is fighting a loosing battle against drugs. But if the media is gonna focus on the bad of electronkia then we have to play by their rules. We can only change how people see electronkia and the scene associated with it. We can't change the media. So it's gonna take people with the scene to understand that to we gotta prove the media wrong. if there aren't any people all wacked out of their minds in clubs or raves then there is nothing for the media to report on. if people are not over do-ing their use...or mixing these substances which result in bad consequences then the media cant use it against us. But until people are willing to do that the media will always have something to harp on. I'm not saying no one do drugs...but do it responsibly. I think that is the key and unfortunately not enough people are responsible.

kinda sick of it, and i know im gonna be killed now but i cant read that anymore. every state including "the drugs" "the E" "those pills". It really seems as if some of you(way too many!) just cant do WITHOUT it. You combine drugs and trance way too often and way too easily .. ppl full of prejudices concerning electronial music and drug use would find their paradise in these forums. Of course many then add some smiley to show they aint THAT serious but that aint workin anymore- there is some truth in it and that scares me kinda. If "E" helps having a better atmosphere something MUST be wrong. Aint that sick thinking that some fuking chemials an replace human feelings?
In the "NRG- Drug" thread i appreiated almost any stater arguing PRO-drug use, beause it was done carefully, ppl actually warning and sharing their own experiences and stuff..but in other threads ppl tend to take it much more easily underestimating the PROVEN danger lacking of responsibility when praising it etc. etc...
hm..i donno just had to write that once..am i now on your"celebrity ud like to beat" list, too?:D

E creates a bettert atmosphere than alcohol.. simple as that. its not wrong.. e creates a very good atmos[phere cuz it generally makes ppl more freindly, so i cant think of a way that this is wrong. :)

as for what eyes said, it has nothing to do with these 13 yr olds giving the drugs or the trance a badf name, i just think if u start on drugs that early theres more chance of u ing up.. cuz at the age of 13 up to 16 uy are generally pretty immature andf u probably dont know what the ur doing anyway.. and i dont think u have to go to clubs/wqhatever dressed in a certain way.. go in whatever the u want, its just ppl that diss the ppl that do dress up that ive got a problem with. i think its wrong that ppl associate xtc or whatever with trance and electronica... if u go to any kind of music gathering theres bound to be ppl using drugs.

as for the government takin the whole drug things out of proportion.. HELL YE!! in europe alone there were nearly twice as many deaths related to alcohol as there were deaths related to drugs. less ppl tend to drive on drugs (which is probably safer than drink driving anyway.. but still, dont try it) and far more young teenagers die due to alcohol poisening than overdoses...

another thing (i also want to say sooo much :p:)) i dont take xtc solely because it enhances the music... yeah it does do something to make it sound better, but i love trance just as much when i go straight (which i do for half the night anyways..) i takeit bcoz it gives that much extra stamina... i truly respekt anyone who can do the sheffield weekend without drugs (GC, Insomniacz & howard... possibly sunday mass) of which i know 2.. but i know i probably couldnt do that length of time sheer dancin without it..

thats all i can think of for the time being.. ill prolly think of more bull to write later ;)

peace

p.s. twilochik: junior vasquez is the most big-headed twat ive ever heard of :p & i wouldnt call creamfields or anything like it a 'rave'... they are festivals :)

I agree with the drugs vs alcohol when driving. One of my profs @ school said he would never drive home with somebody whos had A drink, but will never think twice about driving with somebody on drugs, unless they are definetly out of it. Drunk driver speeds home and kills innnocents, high driver gets u home, but will take a few hours. =)

hey twilo we got the same thing down here at a club called giant.. we refer to ourselves as LG(living giant) family. we go out together have bbqs and have met friends for life at giant. it seems giant is a lot like twilo except it closes at 5 =((( actually giant is probably now the best club in the US since twilo shut down.

no we cant change the media but the truth is that these kids are not gonna come to the realization that maybe they should just hold off for a while.. we cant expect a 13 yr old to think like an adult. they shouldnt be taking e anyways. but what can we do? bitch and complain? im not gonna waste my time feeling bitter about it. im bitter at our fukked up president. wont someone assasinate him already?

its not that drugs are only associated with electronic music man, they associated with so many things, trance just happens to be one of them. so many types of music have an association with drugs. look at history man: from bob dylan to beatles to zepplin to david bowie to nirvana to sublime, no association do drugs? i dont think so. most concerts, big parties, festivals, gatherings have drugs at them, not just electronic music.

alot of people dont want to be sober when they party, for those who do, more power to ya, but heres 2 common situations in my city:
A) 1000 people at a bar drinking alcohol, testosterone raging, how many fights during the night, maybe 3-4. (in my experience)
B) 9000 at a big party, no drinking, some e, happy people, usually no fights (again, my experience)

i agree with tuface, i like this atmosphere better.

sorry for my off topic post:rolleyes:
uhhhh...clubwear....i usually dress pretty casual wherever i go, sometimes at parties i'll wear a shiny shirt( like my favorite addidas shirt that reflect light) and some ttrack pants or jeans. sometimes i get dragged to a club with a dress-code, then i have to wear dressy clothes like dress shirt and nice slacks. (not usual for me tho). sorry, no scanner, no pics.

YELLOWBEE
RAINBOW YOU DRESS SO CUTE, WAIT TO GO GRLLLLLL =O)

I USUALLY WEAR A BIKINI TOP, SKIRT AND BOOTS.
