wow ok i dont know about the rest of the US or the world for that matter. but i have to say here in cali there is a much better vibe at raves than clubs *aka meat markets* the music is better and the people are nicer regardless of what they are wearing! most people that go to clubs are going to get laid not to enjoy the music. and like i said most not all. clubs are not my thing. but i also dont like to see lil 13 yr old kids all fukked up on e. but thats not all thats at raves.. and believe me at any afterhour club u step into u are gonna find just as many people doing that .. and its not that 21 yr olds arent getting just as ed up they are just hiding it better. whats to hide? why not just let go.
ok for example and we all know this is tru.. at an open hours club or any shi-shi club if u are a girl and u accidently bump into another girl or she bumps into u they act like its the biggest problem in the world w/ their stuck up ass.. makes me just want to knock em right down and hope they sprain their ankles on those heals they cant dance in anyway. <<--- this senario is highly unlikely to happen at a rave.. u bump into someone and they may become your next best friend.
but i am very lucky to have a club here that has the vibe and talent of a rave! there are still typical club people there but its not nearly as bad as other places.. actually its not bad at all.. i barely even notice it.. maybe thats cause every guy i walk by doesnt try to grab my ass or make cat calls.

well having never been to a real rave, just good nights @ the club, I wouldnt know about all this . But when a big DJ comes, ala anybody who isnt local and has a CD released, the masses come out, and dress up. @ least I do. Im trying my part. I used to dress normal, then I wanted to dress up..so now I do. Im more tech wear tho...if u know what I mean.
I want something bright...but im so pasty white that it look horrible on me!! |

this is mad... over here raves are phasing out.. and people are going to clubs instead, not cuz they wanna get laid, but cuz they are the same as the raves used to be but more organised and probably safer... your second scenaio (next best friend) happens in our clubs all over the country... we never have had 13yr olds in the places...
ftrom readin all this, i have come upon a decision. its a decision i already had made a while ago bnut this has just backed it up...
america is ed up. all u party ppl get over here to europe and we'll show u how to do it :p:) |

| Nah Tu-Face its just where you are in america. The bigger talent in the Northeast...IE Euro dj's always spin at Clubs. And there is a great vibe in our clubs. I've never once had a problem bumping into people and them getting all mad. Raves aren't as big over here in the northeast...don't get me wrong there are plenty of them...but they just dont draw the crowds that it seems like they draw in Cali. But the northeast is also more populated with a lot of major clubs so maybe that is the reason why raves aren't as big? I personally think that its more of the person rather then the place and certain places attract a certain type of person more then others. And THEOD...I wasn't saying that young kids don't know how to handle drugs and that older people do...I mean in NYC kids like 16 get into the skeezy clubs and get just as ed up at a rave. It has nothing to do with age but more with respect....its kids that get ed up out of their minds that the media plays up on...those kids are what brings the scene down b/c no one shows the respectful users...the ones who don't get amazingly ed up...acting out of their minds...and that goes on at Raves and Clubs....I've just noticed more ed up actions from people at raves then at clubs b/c I think its more tolerated at a Rave. But I'm only speaking from my experience. And I can only say what I've seen in the northeast. And I can't speak for the whole of America or states 3000 miles away from me. Just our culture growing up is completely diff in the northeast then say the deep south...or the midwest...or cali...or even the south east. So being that our cultures are uniquely different that would tend to make our club/rave cultures diff as well. |

i agree w/ya here.. its dick-heads (regardless of age.. but in ur case it sounds like it is the younger ones) who dont know where to draw the line with drugs that give them a bad name...
in my own experiance, in nearly 9 months of goin to gatecrasher pretty regularly ive seen 2 people up.. yet the place still gets raided.. i think these may be copycat raids, cuz they seen them happen with other big clubs like twilo and home... there was nothing wrong with the place before.. my sayin is dont fix something that aint broke...
as for drink.. i think it was slylee that said she prefers the atmosphere when people are drinking more and doin drugs less.. in my experiance (this may just be here.. i dunno) drink causes more fights and brawls than drugs ever could or ever will.. i hate piss-heads. i dont mean all ppl that drink are wankers though, i mean ppl who go clubbing and drink too much. a) they are on the floor feeling ill by 4am and im still bopppin away til 10 am.. b) they are 99% of the time complete nob-heads c) they fall all over the place when they dance...
the drugs in our clubs make the place so much friendlier.. thats why i started clubbing. i used to go 'round the town' with some mates, gettin drunk as and havin competitions to see who coul either puke the most or pull the best burdz... then i realised that it was e.. most the people in my town just go out for a fight anyway.. and whats the point in that if u want a good time.. then i found clubbing and drugs.. which both are 10000000 x better :D and both go together extremely well to vcreate a beautiful atmosphere... there aint no place like gatecrasher for that. i could go completely on my own, que on my own (xcept i'd prolly see someone in the que), pay on my own, go in on my own and i would then meet loads of ppl i know... are american clubs like that? do they have a regulars core kind of thing? could u go to say twilo (before it closed) on ur own and see like loads of peepz u already know in there?

it depends on how much you drink though
lets say if most of the ppl drink just some bottles of beer
not until they get drunk
then the atmosphere will be much better (my opinion)
and i just gotta say
here in norway, ppl from the uk are known for causing trouble when they drink, so i understand what you mean when ur saying that they make trouble and etc
when ppl here goes to ibiza someone will recomend them to stay in a hotel or town where there isnt so many englishmen, cause they only make trouble
im not sayin that you all are troublemakers when you drink, but thats what ur "famous" for here in norway

I've always been a clubber. Raves from what i've seen are a bit too immature for my liking. I dunno but there's usually a mix of crap HHC music and heaps of young kids there who shouldn't realy be ing around with that sort of at that age. IMO i've even found some of the worse clubs are still preferable to a mob of young totally inexperienced off their faces kids.
I dunno it can be cool but it's it's got a lot of elements i'm not crazy bout. And i'm not into going out wearing looking like an idiot either with all the kandygear goin (heh...NO disrespect intended k?) and besides once i know a club i know what it's vibes like. What they're gonna be playing, if they got some podiums for me to let rip on etc etc. (Yeah i'm a Dancer:p:rolleyes::) )
Mmm i love dancin!! I used to be in a show troupe and I spend all night dancing like a nut on E (er...hang on, that IS what i am lol). the only thing is i'm totally wasted by morning and have to sleep it off. Sometime I'll take some pics and show you guys heh heh |

I hear what your saying Tranzmit to a point...the last rave I went to was in march and I felt totally outta place...the vibe was great and I had a good time but I felt OLD:( ....oh well I enjoyed banging away to some good beats and seeing alot of the younger ravers doing there thing....I just felt like I couldn't relate to them anymore...I stick to the clubs now to party .People are alot more dressed up, the drugs are harder but then again so are the tunes:D :D :D :D I sometimes wish the vibe of the clubs here would be more like the raves I used to go to....oh well
